  • Is the deluxe upgrade worth getting - are the DLCs any good?

    • DLCs are good but a little bit short.

      • +2

Night Springs is average, but fun enough, Lake House was great! Definitely worth the $9

    • For $9 it's a bargain

  • +3

    Amazing game, highly recommend

  • +9

    Grr why not on steam!

    • +8

Because Epic funded and produced the game.

Its basically the same as a first party exclusive

And yet that clown Tim Sweeny throws a fit because he has to go through Apple to put Fortnite on iOS

        • +1

You know he won, right? It was obviously a pretty good fit to throw.

          • @dongltron: oh no doubt, but its hypocritical.

he doesn't actually care about monopolies, he just cares that its not his monopoly

        • I loved he did that.

    • +4

That's like asking why CS2 isnt on Epic Games Launcher.

      • +1

        is it though?
steam will easily account for extra sales for AW2, even this long after release. could we really say the same for something like half life 2 LOL

(hell id buy it again for full price on steam again even though i have the game on ps5)

  • +2

About half way through on PS5 now. Pretty good - I imagine you would need a somewhat beefy PC to get the most out of the game - lighting is very important.

    • Is this that game where all the 'fighting' takes place in the dark/with zero vision? I remember a game like that, and it got so annoying I stopped playing it; even though it was great in every other respect.

      • +1

Nah plenty of vision during combat, darkness is all about the atmosphere and build up

The deluxe edition is $28.08 for me on Greenmangaming. For those with an account there, it might be worth logging in to see if it's the same price for you.

    • Pretty sure that’s just for the upgrade, read the base game requirement

    • Is it cheaper when you pay in USD? When I checked it was 1c more than this deal when bought together.

      • +2

You have to be logged in to show the $28 price, otherwise it'll default to $31.

        • Is it a membership thing? I don't have an account with them so can't really check.

  • Is AW2 worth a look if I didn't like the first one? Or is it more of the same?

    • I'd say same but different? They're definitely given more creative liberty with the level design (there're some genuinely awesome sections in the game), graphics (particularly lighting) and atmosphere are top notch. Gameplay wise it's still fundamentally the same; aim flashlight to wear down enemy, shoot, dodge and repeat though there are some RPG-lite elements where you can make these perks-like upgrades with these scraps you find.

I guess how much you enjoy the game also depends on how much you're invested in the story.

    • Maybe? Did you like Control? I found the original too clunky but loved AW2

      • I found Control a lot like AW1 in the sense that I really liked the setting and the overall "vibe", but found the actual gameplay pretty dull.

        • I found the gameplay in control to be a lot of fun, once I tweaked the accessibility settings to make the bosses not bullet sponges (I don't enjoy boss battles), especially in the later games, but interestingly I couldn't get into Control until after I played AW2, it didn't click for me earlier.

    Sweet Baby Inc detected.

    • the devs are from Finland

      • From their Wikipedia page. “Sweet Baby has consulted with several developers and games, including Sable, God of War Ragnarök, and Alan Wake 2“

Naurrrrr a gay person in my video game, ahhh

Is this the sequel to the Wiggles game "wake up Jeff"

    • lmao tf you talking about

      • "Wake up Jeff," "Alan wake Too!" "Dorothy GTF out of bed also!" for the trilogy! Can' wait for that!

  • Kinda annoying that the reward of $4.56 is only available after 14 days. after buying the base game
