      Asking that of an overseas company is hard because of the GST payable and customs cost on entry into Australia, deals that expensive are killed by that.

        It's not, Shopmonk is also shipping from overseas and GST is inclusive. They just need to offer a better coupon for the fly more, it's $1379 now but would be better at $1000 or $1100

        Yes, aware of the current coupon but as dowey mentioned above it will probably be $1400-1500 with GST. Warranty is also difficult to manage should something go wrong…

        Drop the price to $1000-1100 and it'll sell better :)

    Hi Rep, congratulations on the shipping FAQ. It provides lots of detail. It's good to see Reps and stores responding to customer feedback.

    I've never had a problem with Gearbest shipping items going lost, but I know others here on OzB have. For me, a few items have taken a few extra days than indicated to arrive, but on other occasions I've received things faster than expected. In general, I'm happy to pay to upgrade my shipping when I want something quickly.

    One thing I don't understand is when I add an extra item to an order and the cost of shipping sometimes falls. I would have expected that larger/heavier packages would cost more but it usually pays to try out a few combinations to get the best value shipping upgrades. Is there a way we can understand how these are calculated to save us time when choosing whether to combine products into a single order or multiple small orders?

        Your transaction would be fine, as subtotal is different from the total amount you got charged.

        I had a worse problem: applied the code and it worked. Then there was an issue when after clicking pay button via paypal. Had to do the payment process again and didn't check it properly, ended up paying $1.01 USD !

          If you are refering to a foreign exchange transaction fee, no it doesn't.

          I have used it extensively and compared it against the xe.com rate, and it has been more or less spot on. Most major banks that charge foreign transaction fees on their credit cards normally hit you with 3-4% fee!

      Get a Macquarie platinum debit card, much better than having a credit card and they're very easy to sign up to, you can get the platinum through referrals.

      How did the Citi card not come up?

      The Citi card I much prefer as it's a debit card (used to be visa, now moving to mc) so I take it overseas and withdraw money; never been charged a local ATM fee! Great exchange rates make it a lot better than the banks.

        Yep. Citibank is the best card. Haven't paid for overseas transaction fees for past 4 years.

        They actually have really good conversion rates on the fly as well.

    For me the earphones are listed at Gearbest at AU$28.83, not AU$17.54. When I enter the harvest179 code it is rejected and the price increases to AU$36.61. What am I doing wrong?

    I down voted it because I tried to buy the earphones last night minutes after the post was published and the code didn't work. Re-tried again this morning, still not working.

    I'm pretty sure 300 units didn't sell out within a minute. Another poster reported trying another code with one of the items, 2 minutes after the deal started. Same issues.

    My downvote was revoked as being inappropriate.

    Seems a pretty legit downvote, as I don't believe the number of units published. My experience with gearbest is not the best. Refused to refund for a faulty product until I physically sent them the proof of signature from the tracking.

    I think they are a dodgy lot personally.

    Just because something is cheap doesn't make it a bargain, if A there is no units available or B they have a bad reputation on the site. I think you need to up your voting standards.
