PICNIC

  • Gigabit port provides secure wired networks for desktops, smart TVs or games consoles
  • Plug and play, no configuration required
  • Patented Power-Saving Mode automatically reduces power consumption by up to 85%

Futu is selling this a bit less than other eBay stores participating in the current promotion.

This is a relatively new product so there aren't many reviews, though I found some here

Note also that the plugs take up quite a bit on real estate.

We will never forget the mountains of e-waste, 'tiplink'…

    • +1

That's interesting. I've had a variety of tplink devices and none of them has failed (touching wood). They should have used solid state caps though, mind you this model is heaps old

    • At least it was easy to fix…

  • Interesting. Looks like the little brother of the TL-PA8010P-Kit which is AV1200

    • nope-

gone through manufacturer's websites, reviews and forums but still not certain if eop's work across 2 circuits. same say yes others say no. would've jumped on the previous PA8010P kit otherwise

I'd like to see one that does work across circuits - if there's no link between the electrical circuit, how can they work?
Guess really it depends on your wiring and how it's set up - there's no way for anyone who makes these to say definitively "Yes this will work across multiple circuits"

Sorry to say but they do not.

Only way this could work is if the transformer for your circuit is close enough that you wouldn't lose signal. Although going through inductive windings ontop of whatever wiring will probably reck it.

Power Line adapters are not your solution sadly. Need to either run a cable or use wireless.

    • Mine work across some circuits..
In fact.. It travels at least 40m to a shed out the back and goes through a secondary switchboard and still gets around 30mbps

Having said that.. Some powerpoints in the house refuse to sync..

  • I've had these for a few months …. they work well, my only complaint is that the plugs themselves are massive, easily the biggest of any such device I've owned previously. In a double powerpoint they will obscure the unused socket.
