Good value cheap new Barbecue recommendations?

Was after some recommendations on a cheapo BBQ for summer. Would prefer something new with max budget of $500.
Any recommendations or what to avoid?

Thanks guys!

    Weber Q

it's consistently the highest rated BBQ, fits into your budget and if my experience of a $500 Matador is anything to go by, far better quality.

Go to the park its free cant beat that value ;)

  • 44 gallon drum

  • Any Weber; I have the standard one but the Weber Q is more convenient.

  • It's worth buying the Weber Q - the grill lasts longer, easier to clean, it's portable, easier to store, etc. I prefer BBQ cooking in small batches anyway so it suits me quite well. For charcoal, the Weber one touch kettles are the best, provided you have the patience of cooking with coal (much better flavour though).

IMO, the cheap 3 burners get rusty after a while and are just overall a pain to maintain and clean. And snakes get up in them.

  • Definitely Weber Q. They do cost a bit extra but they'll last for a decade or two and you get a lifetime warranty. My grill plates went a little rusty after years of use and they sent new ones out free of charge.
