Lenovo01

A great value tablet with FHD and SD625. Only drawback is the Android 6.0. Note: expecting the better Lenovo Tab 4 Plus to be released in the US after Sep-18 for ~US$229 with a better build + Nougat 7.0.

    whoa

    and no microSD slot :<

    • It has a microSD slot.

    • whoa - you must be thinking of ipad

  • What's wrong with Android 6.0?

    • +1

as companies move to android 7 support for security updates in android 6 slows down if not become non existent. also ability to map sd card for app use so it looks like normal rom ….. that is about it.
surprised they aren't releasing android 7 for this tablet as it has a 625 processor ….. but i guess if they have a new model ready to go then that is where the resources go …… no money in free updates for hardware you have sold only in selling new hardware.
unless you want to build a reputation for support.

      • But xdaforum has custom Rom nougat I think? Or not?

        • Most people just buy phones and tablets and use …. Don't root and load ROMs .

        • @garage sale: i root them on the 1st date. ups i mean root my android on the first day i got it

      • Why cant they just be an update. Shite thing about android devices. Zero software upgrade assurance. Apple is killing in this space

        • Smaller tablets are on the wane. Even the iPad Mini is fading.

Blame big phones. The dip in the Mini pretty much began with the release of the iPhone 6.

  • 3GB RAM is good for a Tab. 2GB runs out pretty quickly these days on browsers

  • I'm looking for a 10" or bigger tablet purely for playing media files preferably full hd screen and decent battery life. Don't really need any more functionality than that. I wonder what would be my best bet?

    • Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus+ 10"
      Amazing battery 9300mah

      • +1
watch for yoga tab specials at JB Hifi on these.

  • No custom Rom. But looks good and cheap not sure why not sold out in a flash

  • Basically the same specs as the original Moto Z Play, which is a great device.

  • anyone can read Chinese please help?
are there any root instruction in english and also custom nougat rom?

    • oh no! bad news for my wallet!
edit: the white is on sale now previously black

    • nope, for white that $149 is USD and we cant apply code.
for deep blue we can apply code bring it down to AUD 178

  • I received mine a few weeks ago, and its pretty sweet, very fast compared to all the other Lenovo Tab3 models (that were MediaTek-powered)!!!
Its mostly pretty good, and the only issues Ive found were:
    - The notification LED has very few controls, and when it lights up it stay solidly lit, wasting battery charge.
    - The Play Store refused to install any update even after the download hit 100%, so it'd just sit there for an hour.
I tried clearing the cache/data but that didnt help. In the end, only a factory reset could fix it.

One other odd thing I noticed, was that the security seal on the Box was cut open already!?
Did any here receive an opened box too ???
