    Knowing nothing else but what you've said I'd be suspicious of sleep apnea. Video tape yourself sleeping if you're waking up tired. Borrow an infra-red video cam. One that has sound. If your breathing is cutting out and you're snorting like a pig, get a proper sleep study done.

      I will thank you. I've had chronic insomnia as long as I can remember so I thought that must be the reason I wake up very tired and struggle to drag myself out of bed in the morning. I always wake up with a very dry mouth too and I have asthma.

        It's very treatable with a CPAP machine. Takes some people a lot to get use to them but if that is your problem well worth it. Sure beats the alternative. Good luck. I hope you don't have it and that whatever your issue is you find it and get it sorted. Lack of sleep is a killer.

        It is but you have to learn how to live with it I guess. Many nights I get only 0.5-4 hours sleep before work. That's life for ya!
