Update 2:
Skipped the shoes, as appon inspectin them the quality was low, I'll pull it off with a pair of dark brown shoes.
Bought silver cufflinks and tie pin.
Cheaped out and bought lynx dark temptations, I'm back to being frugal well sorry of :P.
I'm all ready :D, thanks fellow Ozbargainer's :P
Update:
Hey everyone I got a great wool charcoal suit, shirt and a tie all for $259! It's a really beautiful suit for a bargain much less than I though I'd have to pay for a wool suit :D.
Got it at Oxford Harbour Town, it's where they clear out stock at reduced price, so actual price is cheaper than there other stores and website.
I'd just like to thank you all for all the help in finding a suit on such short notice, you've all been incredibly helpful and awesome :D.
Now I just need to get some cufflinks, tie pin and cologne :).
Will gold cufflinks and tie pin go with my suit or is silver better suited?
Was thinking of the ones from Tarocash.
I find the tie pins and cufflinks to be too contemporary, modern for my taste though.
Does anybody have recommendations for tie pins and cufflinks?
I was thinking about these shoes cheapest good pair I could find, or these Rivers shoes are even cheaper but I find rivers shoes sole's collapse in on the inside of the shoe
Does anyone have recommendations on shoes at about $50, and cologne.
Hey all, I have a school formal this Friday and I need a suit and shoe's ASAP, I have absolutely no idea where to get a suit and shoe's at a good price, or hire, and what kind of suit I need?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks fellow Ozbargainer's :)
Budget to buy is about up to $300 for the suit but preferably less as I'm a student :)
Edit:
How about these ones for hire from
Peter shearer Hire 1st choice $89
Peter shearer Hire 2nd choice $59
For purchase.
I really like this one.
Tarocash Ledger 2 Button Suit
Hallensteins Black Stretch Suit $199
Hallensteins Capulet Tux
$199
Hallensteins Black Classic Stretch Suit
$199
Is Peter shearer good quality yup buy, or are they just cheap over priced stuff?
Edit: 2
Black is more my color as it goes good with my black hear, I'm more of a stylish smart dresser but don't like those ultra tight diamond? Suits.
Edit: 3
Do I need a vest?

For the shoes, all of those places make crap shoes at that price point, so really just get whatever looks good and isn't going to feel terrible. Personally I don't like the detailing of the oxford brand ones. Of the rivers ones, shoe 1 is more of a classic "oxford" style (not to be confused with the brand) and number 3 isn't terrible in terms of style. Not a fan of number 2. You could also consider a monk strap if you want something distinctive - I get a lot of compliments on mine when I wear them to formal events.
For cologne - I recommend 1 million by paco rabanne. It's a safe bet, heaps of people wear it so it's a bit over done but that doesn't change the fact that girls love the smell of it for the most part. I wouldn't say it's unique or particularly tasteful but it just smells damn good and people will love it. Spray some on both the front and back of your neck, and maybe your wrists. The spray on the back will leave a trail of scent. Also don't be worried if it smells pretty strong when you put it on at first, the low quality colognes sold in Australia (vs heavier stuff in europe) fade pretty quickly.
