    Decisions…..Decisions

I would pass, a true ozbargainner never gambles

65% of reviews give it 4+ star.

35% are 3 star or less. Considering they are 76 bucks (Discounted from 300ish) and that some of the reviews are bound to have blasted it for bad wifi that probably wasn't the speakers fault it seems pretty appealing.

I grabbed one but I am using it to plug into an amiga lol so sound quality doesn't bother me to much. If it works well that is just a huge bonus.

The bigger S6 is $166 down from $599 also.

    • Bugger already bought the smaller one for 76 one but I am sure it will be fine.

  • This and the S6 Looks tempting but still not sure…..

If only the S2 had a battery

Thanks for pointing that out. Defeats the purpose of a wireless speaker.

  • It would be interesting to see how it stacks up against a sonos

  • This seems like a better buy than the Definitive Technology speakers. Both of which uses DTS Play-Fi streaming.

I wish these would support google cast, can't see any other way of getting play music to stream to them? other than buying a chromecast audio to jam in the back of the thing

  • Re the definitive Audio (really impressed with W7, wish I'd picked up a W9) uses play fi, as does the Polk's you can mix and match a multiroom system?

    • I missed out on W9. Is the app easy to use?

      • +1

App is no good. It would connect to wifi once, try to update, and just hang.
I just use the 3.5mm audio cable.

        • Thanks… A bit too late as I already pulled the trigger. See how i go, JB usually is pretty good with return…

        • @Ahan: Bluetooth speakers are great for portability. The W7 and S6 are not portable as they are large, require a power outlet and often you have to connect using audio cables as the wireless is not reliable. If you don't mind that, then they are great speaker for the money.

  • After the horror that was LG Flow, the app and speakers have been rock solid, was hell trying to set up until I realised my wifi was set to channel 13 and couldn't be seen by the speakers. wish it had GPM support but the ability to use any Play Fi speaker is great …

  • After some research, I have one major issue with Play Fi. The music always streams to the app on the device first then to the speaker. Unlike a Chromecast, you have to have your device (likely your mobile phone) on the network and switched on for music to continue playing. That's a PITA. The other issue for us is that it doesn't support Google Play Music. The indication is that they're working on it but no firm release date. Shame because I like the Polk audio gear.

    • I don't see why they wouldn't improve on their app in the future…fingers cross.

    3.3/5 on Amazon I'll pass.

I would rather buy a chromecast audio and hook that onto some speaker with subwoofer. I'll be able to stream from my google music and control it over google home or just google assistant on my watch or phone.

    • I would too. At $76, adding on a chromecast audio to improve the wireless functionality is worth it I think.

    I think I'm going to go for a s6 + Chromecast audio.

  • Can report back the Omni S6 sounds really good. So much so I order a second unit. Thumbs up for $166.

    • I ordered two but they gave me a display model. It looks exactly the same but didnt seem to have wifi module and therefore couldnt do wireless streaming no matter what i do…

      • I think you may have one with a borked update. This has just happened to my second one. Turns of wifi light at rear flashing rapidly then off, then repeat. Almost like its boot loop. It should go to a pulse.

Going to return this one and hopefully, they can get it repaired.
