Price Drop Sticker and Highlight Deals

Adding a price drop sticker (Just like targetted deals) next to previously posted deal if the price is lowered and highlighting it, will be nice. Most of the times when price lowers, deal title gets edited and no one even knows about price drop.

  • Great idea Bond

  • That is a very good idea actually.

  • Do you have some examples of this?

If a deal drops in price then it should be posted as a new deal, unless the price drop is insignificant.

      • Here After I posted this deal, Price dropped from $2145 to $1979.
      • $1 drop on this
      • Here Originally posted @ $1500+ the link and price updated to $1300 something.

These are only few examples, I am sure it happens inmany more deals. No one else posted them as new deal because price updates within hours of posting and people comments on post stating price changed.

      • So basically you want a flag that shows the price has been updated since posting (usually within hours/days)?

        • Yeah basically that

        • Also if the deal is days old may be highlight with price drop flag because it might not have been a deal to same at the original price posted but could be a deal after the price drop or create a price drop tag. Just like related tag for ebay coupon deals.

  • It is actually not as useful on OzBargain as on a price tracking site (PriceHipster for example).

    • People usually only post a deal when there's a price drop
    • It gets complicated when you are comparing with other merchants (Aus stock vs grey import for example)

Comparing to targeted deals it's a way for moderators to warn users that "this deal might not apply to you".

    • Well it seemed like a good idea at 1am. Where were you then Scotty? Probably sleeping. Pffft😁

  • Another price drop on this post from $1000+ to $998 something. Many would not have bought due to the risk of paying GST but now it’s below $1000

  • My eyes glaze over when I look at the front page skimming deals I have already read, so I might miss a deal where the price was updated, and as noted in some examples above it can occasionally be substantial.
A flag of some sort to highlight the change is potentially useful.

  • Has anyone here use any plugins for monitoring price drops? Saw this one for Google Chrome called Price Ghost but has almost no reviews.
