  • What's two way charging?

    • You can charge the power bank at the same time as it's supplying power to another device.

      • Don't all the xiaomi power banks do that ?

        • +1

I don't believe all of them do.

  • Wasn't the 20,000 like $31 shipped a few days ago..?

    • It was, however it wasn't the Aus stock variant, that was $37.

I purchased this from shoppingsquare and it just arrived yesterday - so far so good, but:

    1. The code to verify it's authenticity is close to impossible to verify, the website to go to is http://chaxun.mi.com and it's in chinese. If you click English, it goes to a dud page. If you click chinese, it goes to verification but it's hard to verify because the robot check requires you to type chinese characters! I googled for alternative sites for a long time and couldn't find anything.

    2. if you are new to xiaomi powerbanks it can be confusing to determine how its working(I am, so if you have general should-know-things for it, please let me know. There is a very poorly translated manual online, however for instance, I couldn't find anywhere that tells you exactly how to change the mode to low power (I found out you had to double tap the button, but doesn't tell you what indication you will get if you've successfully activated it or how to change it back to normal mode).

Other than that, shipping was good for shoppingsquare I thought - I think this ships from within Australia.

The unit itself is pretty slick. It does not look or feel cheap at all. It charged my xperia z5 pretty quickly, in about thirty minutes went from 20% or so to 80%. I don't know enough about QUALCOMM quick charge or how it affects phone battery if charging exclusively this way so I will probably just use the powerbank as it is intended to, as a back-up.

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to be as informative as I can to help those like me who are looking for this info.

      Thanks! This was useful :)

    • What is low power mode for a powerbank?

      • -One single button operates the power bank, it will turn on the output or restart it when pressed.
-Double click activates a low current mode, designed to charge/power low power devices such as bluetooth headset, USB lamp, keychain flashlights, etc. These devices draws very small of current and in normal mode would not keep the power on.

        • Here's the thing though, for this one - you don't need to press the button for it to turn on, just plug it in.

There is also no instruction on how to reset it - and why you MAY NEED to reset it.

Sure, double clicking it turns it into low current mode, but how do you bring it back to normal mode? Also, it talks about how it intelligently gives the right amount of energy depending on the device, etc. so why do you need to turn the mode on for low power devices?

I understand it is a chinese product, but I would have just preferred some clear english instructions because they are so popular, and sought after that you would think they would put effort in including a clear english instructional (even if just on their website).

@Nucky: It would make sense that it is for devices that don't draw a lot of current, as the powerbank wouldn't be able to sense them under normal conditions and wouldn't stay on. Low power mode becomes an override that just tells it to stay on.

    • After that I trust a manual comes with it. :-)

Thanks OP, looks like a good deal.

      • There's a manual with it, in Chinese.

        Anyone got an English version?

    • lol i can help you to verify that code

      • Really, if so, thanks - how?

Do you mean I give the code to you and you enter the chinese symbol robot check or will you link a site that is in english?

        • +1

yeah…. but i am not sure how to share screenshot for you…

  • Finally got one. Didn't want to carry a big power bank so 10,000 mAh seems like what I need. Thanks!

  • anything with usb c?

  • Can anyone gimme the cheap brands to look out for one of these that does 12v ~2.5A for charging a Surface Pro?

  • Can this charge a Nintendo switch?

  • They have now upped the price. Nice!

    • increased by $1.84. Nice!

    • Tecnically the more expensive listing has always been there so they didn't up the price, they might have decided to just sell a few cheaper.

  • Any idea on when this kind of deal will be back on?
