Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear Headphones (iOS, Black) - $298 at Harvey Norman (Can PM with JB Hi-Fi)

30

On clearance at HN. Got JB Hifi to price match as I had a $10 gift card, but then didn't buy as I didn't like how laid back they are (I like more forward headphones and so picked up a pair of MSR7s). Awesome deal on these great headphones!

Not a bargain. Wired and sound quality is just ok. Better spend the extra and buy a Bose QC35.

    • +4

Subjective, but most would agree sound quality on these blows the QC35s out of the water. Wired is preferred for sound quality, but I get why most people prefer wireless.

      • +1

Agree. I have the 1Sr gen and the sound is well balanced and natural. Qc35 is good but not great. Plus the noose cancelling has that….weird effect. That's just personal preference

  • Yes I got all excited till I saw these are the wired ones. Should prob add that to the title

    • +1

Why? Nearly all headphones are wired. I would assume every set of headphones was wired unless specified otherwise.

  • These were $278 in the past from HVN

Grab AKG K712 from eBay for $271 delivered from China.

    No comparison.

      • Closed back Vs open back

      • Low impedance Vs high impedance (K712's aren't sensitive either, not easy to drive)

      • 2 year local manufacturer warranty Vs 1 year seller warranty

      You're right, no comparison.

        You're right, no comparison.

        👍👍👍

        Yep,open back.

K712s are easy to drive and very sensitive. Do your homework. Even better, listen to a pair.
No problems with projectors,XDuoo FLAC players and laptops.
Pioneer AVRs are a problem without an amp, which is why I use the projector output jack.

My first set is still going ~ 3 years. Used daily.
        Second pair for outside use.

Unfortunately purchased Momentum on ears. Overpriced junk. Can't give them away.

        Incidentally,not a snob.

        • These are over ears, which are better than the on ears.
I would not call Momentum 2 junk. They are overrated IMO but they are decent for sub $300 (they would be a steal at $200).
The Urbanites XL are junk at their RRP (but at $100 they are great) :-)

        • In addition to what has been said

Momentums are aimed at a more mainstream market. I assume most would use this on the move which you can't do with open backs without being a dick to everyone around you

        • Lol you clearly didn't do your research if you bought the on ears, I got these for 248 about a year ago, they are fantastic portable headphones

        • The K712's are not easy to drive, that's universally accepted amongst the audiophile community. I'm not sure why you're getting so defensive, apart from the fact that you own a pair, I never suggested the K712's weren't great. But comparing high impedance, open back headphones to low impedance, closed back is really pointless. Different sounds for different situations and needs. You can buy local stock HD600's and X2HR's for around the same price, I would argue that they're better value open backs than import K712's from DWI.

        • @aja12:

You are comparing 18 ohm closed with 62 Ohm open and then throw in 300 Ohm open @ ~ $400.
          I wont go into sensitivity.
OP did not purchase due to being too laid back.
          Certainly different headphones.
I can assure you that the audiophile community do not agree with you.

    • On ear vs over ears

Big difference in sound quality and comfort.

      • Ah! Apologies. Missed that vital difference.
