  • Dear PissLUR,

Thank you for registering your details to receive a Cetaphil Gym Towel. We’re looking forward to shipping your towel, however as this is an exclusive Fitness First promotion for Australian members, we need validation of your Fitness First membership from you to complete the request for the Cetaphil gym towel.

To complete your request, simply reply to this email with the last 5 digits of your Fitness First Membership number by Wednesday, 4th October 2017.Once we receive your valid membership number, we will be able to ship your Cetaphil gym towel to you with the next available batch. Non-response within the timeframe or response with an invalid membership number will be deemed a cancellation of the request.

We look forward to hearing from you,

I guess you can sue them, or call the bikies. Or most effectively, carry a grudge against them and their samples/towels.

      call the bikies

Not good enough, I'm going to tell the Yes same sex marriage supporters.

I would imagine this to be a massive problem at their end too. I estimated that they are getting thousands of entries to get the free towels in exchange for people signing up to their newsletter. Since they are now only sending out the free towels to legitimate entries, this means they will need to sift through the entries and only use the legitimate ones and remove all the "rejected" ones. To send out promotional emails to the ones that they "rejected" would be a breach of advertising standards.

  • i received their other sample of the kids stuff in the mail yesterday

Can an Admin start summarising at the top of this thread all the facts, URLs and maybe even a template email that we can send the Cetaphil to claim our towel? There's a lot of evidence floating around the original post that we can use against Cetaphil.

Why should an admin do that?

      • To edit the summary at the top of the thread. And they usually do things how I like it :)

They've just taken down their mirror link! They're actively trying to cover this up!

"Galderma reserves the right to change towels dependant on availability."

If you stay insistent then maybe get ready for a refresher towelette.

Social media is much powerful rather than ACCC
Start posting bad impression on product review website/facebook wall/google review etc

    • Good point – for over a month, PayPal repeatedly denied my seller protection claim, even though I complied with all their requirements. I posted a complaint on Facebook, and it got resolved within the hour.

      Amazing!

they are quite active on their FB page, should all OzB members blitz their page calling out this outrageous monstrosity

      • Absolutely. Who wants to be first?

    Class Action or Bikies? lol

Honestly just don't buy from them. Prescription medications like topical retinoids work far better in most cases.

  • Haha, yeah I got the email too. I guess they didn't expect the sudden influx.

  • was the fitness first membership ever in the T&C?

  • What if we just send a made up FF membership number?

    • I wonder how they can verify the FF membership number? Unless they are a huge sponsor of FF, I doubt FF will put so much effort in verifying the details.

I feel so used…unlike the towel they neglected to send me

  • Same deal with the email, replied to it with similar content that others have.
Its one way to burn a brands name with people by changing the goal posts.

Yep I got the same email today. My observations:

    1. The web page said 'Terms and Conditions apply'. There was no link on the page to any terms and conditions, leading a casual observer to believe that by filling out the form, they would receive a towel.
    2. There was nothing to indicate that this promotion was only for members of Fitness First.

It's probably not worth the time insisting on the free towel. Instead, I'd suggest that everyone who failed to receive a towel email Cetaphil/Galderma and ask the company to delete the personal information that was supplied. No towel for me = no information for you.

    And buy their competitors products…

    • Yeah, I don't remember the T&Cs said anything about Fitness First membership. But I won't really insist on the free towel - it's just too much effort. Just not very happy that they collected your info and then don't give the incentives as they should. I didn't receive the daily lotion either. Won't bother buying their products now.

  • Anyone received a Ego (QV) skincare sample pack instead?
I only remember entered the Cetaphil lotion sample but not QV's.

  • OK, odd development.

    Delivered today.

Granted I made a bit of noise with them, I thought they weren't going to send them out.

    Win!
