@fritzsticker: Took me… Just around 2 hours to port from Optus Postpaid to Amaysim Prepaid
I always have bad luck with porting. I ported my Amaysim service out to Telstra. The Telstra website process complained of an error so I had to redo it by phone. Then, 6 hours later, I tried to port back via this deal and the page complains "number already exists in ECS gateway".
It appears that Amaysim charges per MB data session instead of kb. I was with Vaya on the 1.5GB plan then ported to Amaysim 1.5GB plan and notice I am using up data much faster than while I was with Vaya. After checking my Usage History and saw they are charging per MB session instead of kb.
Correct. I tested this out and if you use 1KB in a session it will round it up to 1MB.
the individual entry rounds it up to 1MB. but not the total usages.
No. Check your total usages. It is measured in the format of XX.XX MB.
Thanks. I found it:
Data (total): 0.02MB
Data (session): 1.00MB
yikes…didn't realise companies still did that
goodvibes will afford 10% off until tomorrow night iirc, which is when this deal also expires :)
Just worked for me.
Anyone know if a deal like this (or better) is on the horizon? Need to get a microSIM, and if stick with Vaya, they want to charge me $20. Makes sense to go to Amaysim (same mob in any case) and get a better deal overall without a contract.
$20 for what??
what is your current sim size?
The $20 is for a replacement SIM. Original SIM is standard size, need to use a NanoSIM, not microSIM as mentioned in earlier post.
I've used scissors to cut a MicroSIM to a NanoSIM…
I'm sure you can cut a MiniSIM to a MicroSIM?
I'll be surprised if they supply you a Original/Full-size(1FF) SIM?
Then again, every SIM comes as a Full-size SIM…

Full-size SIM
The full-size SIM (or 1FF, 1st form factor) was the first form factor to appear. It has the size of a credit card (85.60 mm × 53.98 mm × 0.76 mm). Later smaller SIMs are often supplied embedded in a full-size card that they can be pushed out of.
@NGPriest:
Thanks NGPriest, I did exactly this, but am now having trouble with the iPhone SE I purchased from Shopmonk not being able to adjust the earpiece volume and when making calls the reception cuts in and out. Contact Apple, they couldn't fix the problem over the phone (as I kept cutting in and out), so before taking the phone to Apple (not sure if they support Grey Imports in store) I said I would get a NanoSIM. I was already considering leaving VAYA, so found Amaysim which is $15 per month, but the Groupon deal is way cheaper for the 6 recharges.
Thanks OP for this! if anyone cares, I purchased the Groupon deal, then I bought a amaysim sim at 7-11 for 2 bucks, redeemed the Groupon deal and transferred my number from woolworths mobile, contacted chat and they manually set the sim card I bought at 7-11 with my new account. Amaysim service was switched within an hour. Profit!
Took mine ovo to amaysim 10 days to be ported
