Given SB has numerous errors, bugs, human mistakes and AI mistakes in the past 12 months,
I am not going to touch this price error. I don't trust them.
Not interested in spending the next 60 days keep chasing.

    • +5

I agree to this from my personal experiences with shopback. I will never touch shopback although YMMV.

    • +4

You're lucky if you get the cashback after 60 days of chasing. I've been waiting for over two years, mine has been stuck at "tracked" since November 2022 and was supposed to be confirmed by 27 February 2023. The funny thing is, it still hasn’t even been rejected.

      • +2

I just had a Woolies one credit from 2019! I asked them to remove it, as it was stuck in tracked for six years… but instead it was confirmed!

      • +2

Mentioning AFCA could potentially get a result out of SB support.

    • But there're lots of gamblers…84 up-vote & increasing. A minority who will experience money-back claims rejection will likely to believe in selective-scamming.

    • agree they have many bugs, one time i asked them do you check/test your promos before they gove live ? their answer is sorry we are too busy to test
      haha

    • +1

Here it comes the angry tsunami.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16693429/redir
People who took the gamble only got tracked for $10.
This is exactly why I don't trust SB.
Almost every single deal with them has some sort of error.

      • I trust SB to have errors and to fix the errors. Am I too optimistic? 😂

    • +1

To add to the Shopback failure stories, I had a large cashback denied from a hotel booking of approx $1000. Shopback is now my last option.

    • +1

I should have listened to you!

  • +3

    @gotyourback

Please validate, is this cashback REAL or error?

    • +1

      It's neither, just a joke.

  • -2

Plus you can’t cancel or port out after 28 days?

    • +2

      @trixieb’s notes:

Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.
      - Please don't deactivate or port away until you receive the cashback. Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number.
      - Terms and conditions are from Telstra/Boost and apply to all cashback providers. Confirmed with the rep tightarse here, here and here.

  • Did anyone's order track so far?

    • +1

Still waiting for mine since that screenshot taken

      • Same here. Been having issues with SB lately, didnt track the other day on Chemist Warehouse and Lyca orders (2 orders, only tracked 1)…lets hope it comes through soon

        • +1

          Thanks BG.

Chemist Warehouse tracked for me from this offer. I avoid Lyca or Lycra.

Ordered Boost for fun but still untracked. Usually would have tracked by now.

Last cashback offer for this SIM was $11 from TopCashback. If typo, it could be $11 instead of $21 cashback. It's the first time I participate with possible cashback error.

          • @trixieb: Normally Boost takes about an hour to track. Still nothing for me either.

My last tracked purchase with ShopBack was for Myer. No failed purchases recently

            • @BargainsGrabber: Same, all my purchases have tracked with ShopBack recently. My Boost order with TopCashback tracked in 3 mins last week but it can be longer as you said.

              • @trixieb: Any tracking update? Bought an hour after you on shopback app, not tracked yet

    • +3

Brought the $39 Sim for $13 at 11am. Tracked now but only $10 cashback.

  • +1

    Thanks BG, Bought one!

  • What stops someone from buying 100 of these?

    • +5

Website errors, even hard to buy one

    • +11

      Boost Mobile jail

      • Go directly without passing Go?

  • Note: T&C says Esim not eligible

    • +4

Buy a sim and then convert to esim with the app.

  • -1

    Following

  • I am getting, cant place order. Please try again at checkout.

    • Change browser

      • I an doing in shopback app

        • +2

From memory there's something about a payment process getting stuck in limbo. It's either illogical or not possible to unstick it. Change cards.

I think it can happen with too many purchases/active services for one user too.

Or maybe I'm wrong or thinking of something else. Someone here will hopefully pitch in with the truth

    • Same happening to me, Multiple browsers, cards, names, numbers tried aswell.

      • I'm really struggling to recall but I think try phoning them. It must be account based not card based. I think they can unstick it. Hopefully you get a rep that's aware of the issue. I'm fairly convinced this is what I had to do a year or two ago.

It's not blacklisting btw, it's a system issue that doesn't go away.

Separate to the issue is not having too many active services and that resolves itself I believe

        • I dont login though. Unless they fingerprint each computer and know I logged in on this computer.

  • +8

Not worth having to deal with SB's email customer service, have fun guys

  • +3

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    • Same here. Did it fail at checkout? Did you buy other ones in the past? could be some kind of blacklisting system.

  • If there are people who don't trust ShopBack, but do trust TopCashback a bit more, you could use their highest cashback guarantee to beat ShopBack by a few cents and be able to eventually withdraw it without ShopBack's $10 minimum withdrawal limit.

Make sure to read the Ts&Cs carefully and save a screenshot from ShopBack with a time stamp as insurance.

    • -1

Unfortunately if this is an error from ShopBack, TopCashback's highest cashback guarantee would not apply. I haven't used TopCashback's guarantee but had enquired about it.

ShopBack may honour if it's an error. Probably better to use ShopBack in this case.

      • To those who negged my comment, please let me know when you receive $21 cashback for this Boost offer from TopCashback.

With the cashback guarantee T&Cs, TopCashback rejected a Vodafone price beat as it wasn't like-for-like as mentioned here.

  • +1

Thanks BG. Purchase went through ok. Hope it tracks!

  • Any cause or solution to the "cant place order. Please try again" at checkout error?

  • +5

    ShopBack T&C stated Exclusions includes

    • Store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated

Cant see the $13 lower price promotion mentioned on the ShopBack site

    😕

    • It looks like a catch.
      Thanks for reminding!

    • Have previous offers been mentioned on ShopBack site?

    • Another question: is this terms recently created? I find it under some other stores as well, but not all.

      • I think so. I did not see it there before.

        • As a comparison, Vodafone store has this terms and lists the discounted prices. In addition, it has a challenge that encourages purchases.

  • +5

SCAM.. Good luck getting the cashback. not worth risking $13

    • +1

Except if you were already looking for a short term prepaid SIM, $13 seems fine to me and if I get the cashback then even better.

  • Bugger…missed out no good deals now.

  • +2

Can’t purchase this shit. Boost website sucks.

  • +1

    Thanks, ordered - fingers crossed.

  • +2

Thanks OP - ordered one for old times sake!

    • +1

Let us know of it tracks and I'll join. I appreciate your sacrifice brave soul.

      • no tracking yet - "Your click has been recorded and we are checking to see if you shopped at Boost Mobile. If so, you will see your Cashback within 2 days."

  • +1

One of the exclusions is "store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated" and I think the $13 deal is a store promotion.

Has anyone got the $21 cashback tracked yet?

  • +1

Whilst these were very good offers enabling me to get free internet for about 2 years I have now subscribed to a more permanent solution.

Vodafone 60GB high speed data using a wireless router then unlimited at 2MB/sec and Felix unlimited at 20MB/sec but restricted to using a mobile phone.

I've been prevented from buying more Boost deals so I've given up trying again.

  • Tracked?

  • Totally need some $0 boost deals again (I'm assuming this shopback profit deal isn't going to happen).

  • Ordered using shopback app, mobile data at like 6 am AEST

Yet the order still not tracked despite being like 3.5 hrs

Anyone else used app and got tracking??

  • +2

gonna wait til tracking is confirmed before pulling the trigger

  • Not eligible according to the T&Cs.

Anyone paying for Shopback plus got a fast support response?

  • +2

    My cashback tracked.. $21

  • My cashback just tracked, ordered about 7.30am today

  • +2

    $21 tracked.

  • +2

    Took 2-3 hrs

    https://ibb.co/r2ZhV5cn

  • I'm all in.

    • -2

bobo here, how many did you buy brother?

I bought 6 only, now thinking whether to go all out..

      • bohn here bobo, go hard, son.

  • +1

Tracked after 5 mins, thanks OP

  • Does the sim card need to be activated asap in order to get the cashback?

    • "SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering."

  • I will never use Shopback again. I really thought many were just exaggarting on how bad it's become. Recently, I signed up for a $3.00 Amazon gift promo/reward, as long as $30 was spent on the Amazon gift cards within a certain period of time. I met the criteria within a day. A $3.00 Amazon Gift card reward appeared in my app within 2 days. When I tapped on it, it was already redeemed. I contacted the 'fabulous' AI team at Shopback, only to receive a response via an email about 5 days later. I was granted a manual $3.00 cashback to compensate the 'glitch'. The thing is, the manual cashback was granted as pending, and to make it payable I was requested (for some uknown reason) to update the withdrawal details. I have done that too, just to get it over with. It's now been 4 weeks. The cashback is still pending, and Shopback has stopped responding to my emails. Thankfully it was only a few dollars. It's a clear sign they no longer care about their customers. If anything goes wrong, you will be left to deal with it on your own, often facing unnecessary difficulties that make even small claims frustratingly difficult. Stay away from SB.

"Cashback is applicable only to New Boost customers"

How are people getting around this?
    New email address?

    • I accidentally used the same email address and it tracked. But assuming it could be rejected still after I activate the sim as an existing customer..

    • -2

      Imo, it's a trap, https://ibb.co/TxkGtQXY.

But gamblers will try to beat the system: similar-gamble, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911318

      • +1

No, this has never been an issue with boost. Get a new number will work fine

  • +2

Despite the $21 cashback being tracked, could the exclusion term 'store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated' eventually cause it to be rejected?

    • Why did you get negged? I’m curious what I am missing. If you negged please explain.

      • +3

Here at https://www.shopback.com.au/boost-mobile the terms and exclusions said you won't get cashback on 'store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated'. Isn't the special offer $13 for the $39 Prepaid SIM a kind of store promotions, discounts or special deals?

        • that is confusing

  • Normal successful tracking with ShopBack for me takes 8mins. Currently no tracking at 25mins and counting…

    • -1

Just relax, its tracked for others but just took a few hours.

    • Mine took 51mins to track at $21

    • mine took 10hrs to track

  • Can confirmed mine got tracked as well. less than 2 hours. buying another one now.

  • Tracked within 15 minutes on shopback app.

  • +1

    Yay thanks OP
