  • pity i missed out on the vega 64's :(
store man post up lol :P i need one :P

  • Xeon x3430 vs ryzen? Also what about the older i5 and i7 how do they stack up, i can get a full system for roughly 200

    • Depends on what you're doing with it. The X3430 is a 8 year old workstation/sever processor with a low clock speed. You're not really comparing apples with apples.
      http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Xeon-X3430-vs-AMD…

Maybe buy a refurb dell desktop?

      • The funny thing is that in benchmarks x3430 wins search up x340 vs ryzen 5, apparently it wins

        • I'd find that hard to believe, 4c/8t vs 6c/12t and even if it was the 4c/8t ryzens you've got lower IPC, lower clocks no support for DDR4 etc.

Overclock and you'll close the gap but still can't see it being faster.

Tried looking for some benchies but didn't even find a comparison on a reliable website. Got any links? Curious to see what they say.

        • @combatant: It was a Russian YouTube video didn't understand much but like ratio was pretty good.

        • @SimpleRoger: I'm also talking about the x5650

        • @SimpleRoger:

Ok, well that makes more sense then compared to x3430. I think i'd watched that same video a few weeks ago.

        • @combatant: Yeah for $200 dollars for cpu and mobo it's a steal

  • Already bought one but cheers for not being as lazy as me and posting!

  • haha ofc i buy the 1700 on Monday for $375 and 3 days later it's $8 cheaper.
