  • Is it actually HDR ? there's no mention of it on the Samsung site. Is it some Samsung version of HDR ?

    • Says HDR Under specs on Samsung site but its def not HDR1000/10

      • Thanks. I did find it eventually in the extended specs form. Odd they don't talk about it in the product description,

I think the 6400 is the better deal.

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-55-inches140cm-uhd-le…

10% off brings it to $1255

    • What's the difference in specs/features between the 6100 and 6400?

      • HDR 10 for 6400

        • dammit, the website says delivery is not an option for this item…

At this price Hisense series 7 would be a far better buy.
Most places would sell the series 7 for mid $1200’s if you haggled

    • The Hisense 7 series punch well above their price class. Even comparing my mate's 65N7 to my Q7F I was hard pressed to say which looked better

    • Hisense 65N7 vs Samsung MU7000, who wins? I'm tossing up between these two, apparently the Samsung wins because of 1000nits, hisense is about 400 or something? I'm going for the 65" and budget is around low 2k.

I'd personally go Samsung, but that's mainly due to some of the extra features. I LOVE the external one connect box, for instance. All your inputs are in a separate box so you don't have lots of wires dangling behind your tv. Also the MU7000 has 4x HDMI 2.0 ports, whereas the Hisense only has 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x HDMI 1.4.

Samsung tvs also have wireless connectivity to their soundbars, good app selection (including steam link!) and really nice tv remote and remote apps.

If you don't care about any of those features, then honestly it's just down to personal preference of image quality, aesthetics and price

        • Damn that's a good price. The MU7000 is nowhere near those prices at the moment

  • Any good price on a 65"?

  • Hello people,
I was able to get one of the good guys store in Melbourne to do a price match on Samsung 55" MU6400 with their online only 10% off in store. So it comes down to 1255. Besides, my employer has 6% off on TGG gift cards. So, I'll get this TV for $1,180. I was considering Hisense 55N7 too. However, after going thr' few threads here & whirlpool forum, I have seen that people have reported quite a few issues (TV software, gaming response time, playing videos greater than 1920 pixels in media player, access to apps, firmware update etc) with N7.
I am interested to know if there are any issues with Samsung 55" MU6400?
    Also, I'm confused between 55" MU6400 & Sony 55" 8500E. Which one is better?
We have seen a lot of correction in the price for Samsung 55" MU6400 (down from 2200 to 1398 and now 1255.) Considering we are approaching Boxing Day sale, is there a possibility of this one going further down? If yes, how much would be the correction?
    Please share thoughts.

    • TVs always go down further towards xmas and after, I would say this TV Will prob be around 1k or less by xmas somewhere
