PayPal Holding My Money without Justification

With this earlier offer (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330963) we decided to sell some stuff on eBay.

We delivered the item and shortly received positive feedback.
Then to our dissapointment, PayPal put our money on-hold.

Initially PayPal said they can release the fund 3 days after delivery. It has now past more than a week since delivery.

PayPal ignored our messages when we contacted them, and when we called them they keep playing stupid by telling excuse about technical issue. And unable to give an estimate when the fund will be available.

Anyone else having this issue? Is there an alternative to PayPal when selling on eBay? Besides bank deposit which buyer reluctant to use.

    as someone who had an issue with PayPal for over 6 months, all i can say is good freaking luck. Like every other company, they're good when they work but when you have problems, it seems like you go round and round in a circle

    if you are the first time/first few time seller, paypal normal hold your money for 2 weeks if nothing happened from the buyer end.

      Actually we're not new seller. We have our account for more than 6 years. We sold quite number of items, maybe more than a dozen, but not often. Maybe couple of times a year.

          I have experienced this before, that time only $150 and get hold for 2 weeks with tracking number provided.

    This is normal for first time sellers.

    If it's the first time you've sold, the default holding period is 3 weeks, unless you have tracking numbers, then it is 2 weeks.

    But it won't be any faster than that.

      Today has past 3 weeks with tracking number provided. Looks like its FOS complaint time.

    Standard operating procedure for Paypal. They're a shitshow of a payment processor, but nobody is ubiquitous enough to knock them off.

    Been there.
    Used PayPal to receive CC payments. Was OK for a couple months then one day it was put on hold for no apparent reason.
    Said we need to give them proof of ABN and letter from business owner and whatever crap.
    This is their ploy to get interest from your money.
    If you're selling stuff on eBay, you're out of luck.
    But dont worry, PayPal will eventually release your money.
    I dont sell on eBay, so I go with eWAY and Stripe.

    once you upload the tracking information of posting the item the money usually gets released.
    if you have an issue contact the FOS if paypal does not want to help you.

    Good luck! They are holding my money for 6 months now and I can't touch it till then, decided to close my account for good without a single explanation.

    FOS said they have the right to suspend whoever they want and stop doing business with whomever and in your user agreement they will hold the money for 6 months following permanent limitation. Plenty people with similar experience.
