Apple Watch Series 2 - No Clearance Pricing from Apple or Retailers

Wondering if anyone has inside information about this, but with the Apple Watch 3 release, I was expecting most retailers to offer clearance pricing on Apple Watch series 2.

Have I missed this pricing? or did it simply not happen?

Most retailers seem to have removed Series 2 from their websites. Other than a few Nike Apple Watch series 2 on JB Hifi's website it's not available.
I see Myer still has it listed at full price on their site, but that should not surprise anyone.

Does anyone have inside info if Apple returned all the series 2 stock to stop channel discounting, or did they simply ensure no one had stock prior to S3 launch? Perhaps a combination of both?

    I've not seen any on sale, think most are sold out so no one is discounting. Myer city told me people have still bought some at full price?!? They have model 0 on clearance in a cabinet but price was still high.

    I thought I might be able to snag a bargain series 2 during ebays 20% off sale last week but nothing…..

    Retailers aren't stupid, if they can still sell the series 2 for full price and idiots buy it, then….. lol

    apple stuff has amazing resale… have to ask yourself why an iphone 6 being two gens old still commands $400 or so… as a refurb!

    i suspect apple's repositioning of the device into a fitbit health device makes sense since as a luxury item, it didnt
