iPad Pro 10.5 Cases in Melbourne

Hi all, just ordered an iPad as above, I'm looking for a non-keyboard case that will hold my pen also. I can get a nice one for $180 from apple, but well it's $180 I've spent enough on the iPad I want to tight-arse the case if I can. Any ideas apart from the regular crowd like JB/Officeworks/Good guys etc? I'm looking at something nice, not $10 market quality, like real leather etc. Cheers!

I had to order one from Amazon, due to lack of local alternatives.

The thing is too damn slippery to hold without a proper case, hence I don’t want the envelope-style one (which I will return unopened to Apple.)

Luckily I had completely forgotten that someone had given me a $50 Amazon e-gift card!

Got this case - could not be happier with the quality - highly recommend it!

eBay is always an option for something cheap and nasty - might be tricky to find something local. Maybe try your local shopping centre with those stalls selling phone and tablet covers?

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'm looking at this one though it's overkill (I'm not that clumsy especially with expensive gear like this), and it covers the screen with a piece of plastic, it does however have a safe place for the pen to live, and I do like the idea if I do drop it I won't break it http://www.mastershop.com.au/tablet/apple/new-ipad-pro-10-5-…

Don't do it… unless you have a special need (commercial use, tradesman, small children etc), a thick heavy case with a plastic screen overlay will constantly drain the pleasure from carrying around and using what is otherwise an absolutely gorgeous device.

On my previous iPad, I have the Apple leather smart case, which is lightweight, protective against all normal minor accidents (falling off arm of sofa etc, not falling off balcony onto concrete parking lot), and ages beautifully as the inevitable scratches etc become part of the distressed leather look. Previous previous ones have had third party cases that are just bulky and heavy and awkward.

      • Yeah true, I do love those saddle brown leather cases, they would age quite nicely.

  • Ended up getting the leather sleeve which also holds the pencil. It's really nice and convenient, still not sure how I feel about paying so much though. I guess it's a long-term thing, I'll have it for years and years (at that price I hope so anyway :D
