Wanting LED Lighting Strips

Hey OZB, I don't use the forums too much, had a look around and couldn't work out the right deals forum for this to be in, so mods, please feel free to move it.

Basically just wondering if a) I can find enough people so we can group-buy or b) convince one of the almighty middle-men for the site to work out a deal for them in the near future.

I started off with just the one kit, from bunnings on a whim (and because I had a gift card balance to kill after a giant shop) and now I'm hooked, did a rasberryPi ambient lighting setup for the big TV, now I wan't to incorporate them everywhere, but everywhere I check seems to be 'a little' too much, especially since they usually come in kits that are only designed to be a closed circuit with a specific amount of LED's due to the specific power source also given in the kits.

It's the end of a very tiresome weekend and I'm going against my better judgement throwing this out there while I have the energy, sorry for any mistakes or lack of common sense somewhere.. etc.

Thanks! All views/offers welcome!

Have you had a look at the shopping app 'Wish', by any chance..? Not sure on quality as I haven't ever ordered the LED light strips they have on there, but there are HEAPS for sale and at a pretty low price from what I gather. Also, they seem to get some decent buyer reviews, so might be worth taking a look. If you do decide to try them out, just watch the shipping costs on there - freight is billed by most of the sellers per ITEM, not per order. Hopefully this will be of some help to you!

    • Appreciated! Will check them out in the morning, thanks.

Wish is just an overpriced AliExpress. Make sure you do your due diligence and shop prices against AE and eBay

Yep, I came to that conclusion after checking them out, thanks though. I am indeed lucky I did my own due diligence.

    • Ahh, I see - For those of us still learning, instead of offering up what we DO know of and hope may be of some help, it’s better not to bother trying to help at all, just in case we’re not ‘right’… 2 downvotes because it turns out there are cheaper suppliers around? Really?! lol, I won’t be making that mistake again!

    • Thanks, added to my notification tags.

  • IKEA has them, go and check them out.

  • Jaycar?

    • Jaycar has evolved over the years to be more and more expensive sadly, used to be a favorite spot of mine. I think the internet helped this happening.

  • ledsales.com.au

  • Yeah id like some led strips too. I want to install them in every room, but so far ive found it hard to find strip leds that are high enough in efficiency and low enough in cost to nake it worthwhile
