Tag Heuer 360 Club - Is It Useful/Worth It?

Hi, I'm looking at buying a Tag Formula 1. The boutique in Sydney is a little more expensive than where I could find it online, but it does come with the Tag Club 360 membership.

I believe there's a gift with purchase, does anyone know what it is?

Anyone a member with good or bad reviews?

Cheers

Please tell me you are buying an automatic?

  • Why didn't you ask them?

Looks like you'll get invites to buy tickets to functions and get 10% accessories.
No idea of the gift but I'm betting it's just a key ring or similar.

Have you a link to the watch please?

Save your money and buy something else! Tag is all branding and minimal innovation or mechanical nous. Check the movement (which is made by an external company, ETA from memory for the automatics) and find a watch that has the same movement, that you like. You'll get far better value.

    • People only buy Tags because of the branding (I still have a Tag Heuer F1 from when I was like 12 somewhere in a cupboard). OP should step up to an Omega. And not even consider a quartz watch. Then it really is all about the name.

That being said, I would totally rock a Tag Heuer Monaco in Gulf colours.

      • Agree, the Monaco is an iconic model (and perhaps the only iconic everyday model tag make). You're right, but the brand is only valued by those who don't know anything about watches. It's a bit like buying an entry model Merc/bmw - you have the badge but a small and sparsely featured car.

        • I dunno man, a C class is pretty luxurious today.

        • @Burnertoasty:

Was actually thinking of an A class. C class has come along way - wasn't too long since base model came with cloth seats!

        • @mademan43567: You used to be able to get the S class with cloth seats

      • If I had the money I would get a Grey Side of the Moon for sure, or an IWC

I have a Tag Calibre 16 Chrono Automatic, I'm looking at the F1 Chrono with the NATO strap for a summer/daytime option

        • Dude, that is a $2000 quartz watch. Are you nuts? If I was going to get a cheap quartz watch, I’d get the Apple Watch. Why spend 20 times what the watch is worth for a name?

        • @Burnertoasty:
          $1550
If I wanted a smart watch (which I don't), then I wouldn't even consider the apple watch!

        • @nickyd84: Mate Quartz watches has no intrinsic value. You already have a Tag, why get another inferior one? I wear my Omega everyday, 24/7, that is what watches are for. If you’re too precious about your other Tag, and want to buy another one, you are wasting money.

        • @Burnertoasty: I don't want to wear a dress watch every day. I also like watches, I'm sure I will buy more over the years. Out of interest what Omega do you have?

        • @nickyd84: Just a Seamaster

        • @nickyd84: I didn’t think Tag made dress watches apart from the Monaco? A big metal chronograph is hardly a dress watch.

  • Bought a tag from the chadstone store in Melbourne. Asked for a bit off the price - got 10% off. Then the service guy gave me tag F1 cap and a diary as gifts. Also got my invoice for a TRS claim later this month.

    • So you can haggle there? I thought it might be harder there compared to a normal jeweler. I'm looking at the F1 Chrono which is currently reduced from 1700 to 1550 anyway due to a special gallery of old Tags they have touring, so not sure I'll have much luck knocking them further down.

      • Yup. Got the f1 chrono for $1500. It was $1650 at the store and I asked the rep to do a better deal as I was travelling overseas soon and would much rather buy it overseas at the listed price. He took 1 min to offer me $1500.

        • I'm an Aussie citizen now but am from the UK (So have EU passport too). Flying to NZ for a wedding in 3 weeks, if I fly out on my EU passport do you think I'd still get the tax back?

        • +1

@nickyd84: you can fly out in whatever passport u choose.

Few tips: Use the TRS app. Don’t wear the watch out, wear it back in. If asked, say it’s a gift for a family member overseas. Make small talk with the officer - they’re usually bored as crazy and have to deal with non English speaking pax all day so even chat about the weather is appreciated.

          All the best.

Ignore RRP. Unless it's a rare piece or low volume brand, you shouldn't need to pay retail for any brand watch. I think 15-25% off RRP is about the mark (pre gst refund). Shop around!

  • You'll get a Tag Heuer Club 360 hat and Pen (at least that's what I got)

    • thanks, I got the hat that was it
