Cheapest UHD TV that will do UHD @ 60hz?

Just wondering what the absolute cheapest 4K/UHD TVs available today that will do it at 60hz when connected to a computers graphics card. Any size is fine.

  • Either a Bauhn from your local Aldi.

    A Soniq.

A random tv from big w.

Or a Kogan, most likely you should go with a Kogan imho it's fairly good and reliably effective but if you prefer ease of returns then a Bauhn from aldi is probably best but price wise Kogan is very good.

    What size are you after?

Most of these tv's don't have HDR if that's saddled what you are looking for.

I think the Kogan's have 4:4:4 chroma sampling which is what you would need for monitor pc usage.

Also keep an eye out on the UHD product page for up to date 4k TV deals and just check the prices and specs.

    • I was going to get a Kogan but I saw the 40-50” ones say 30hz for 4K, and some of the reviews for the others say it’s not good for pc monitor because it’s locked to 30hz at 4K despite the specs. I was going to just get the $600 Polaroid 4K from big w but now I’m not sure if that will do 4K at 60hz either.

      • Oh damn.. Do you know if the 55" or 65" has 4k 60hz or not? I swear I read one of these cheap large 4k tv's had 60hz on it.. hmm let me check some of my previous comments and replies. Brb.

        • I think some of them do. An old 40-50” model clearly states it was. And for all I know they all do and it’s just misreported specs and negative reviews pointing out the problem weren’t using 2.0 hdmi cable.

        • +1

          the 55" definitely does.

For some reason you have to change the HDMI version to 2.0 in the settings of the TV.

        • @theguyrules: hmm I thought so because I have been eyeing the Kogan's now for weeks after doing many research. Not sure still how it compared to say some others like Changhong, TEAC, TCL, Aldi Bauhn and etc but the availability and consistent low price is there.

In fact for me Aldi is kind of cut out because I have no way to transport the tv but with some of the others at least there is paid or sometimes on special free shipping.

        • @AlienC: kogan TVs are good value. I'm reasonably impressed with my housemates one.

        • @theguyrules: do you know which size his or her one's is? I am thinking 65" should do it for me as 75" is still tool pricy haha lol.. and maybe a little bit too big lol.

If I decide to scatter some around for when we have guests I might tone it down to 55" or have one 65" in my room and one 55" for the attic or downstairs.

        • @AlienC: his is a 55"

        • @theguyrules: any idea on the power usage or rating?

        • @AlienC: No clue, sorry.

        • @theguyrules: all good I know it's around 100-200W so like having a house full of lights on and then some but just wanted to be more accurate and make sure.

  • A PC monitor, raspberry pi, and usb tv-tuner

    • I don’t want to tune tv on it, so I don’t need a tuner or Pi.
