So Shopspring sell this for $87.08 USD excluding shipping and you then sell it for $116 USD excluding shipping?
    https://www.shopspring.com/products/52908110?query=hayley
Seems like a good deal to me.

    • We don't sell anything. We find deals and share - Shopspring updated it so fast that we haven't got time to update.

  • So the "deal" is for standard priced freight forwarding? On a few calculations, Ship2au seems to be more expensive than https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/ for many package dimensions.

So what is the deal? Is there some discount on the product you're actually selling - i.e. freight forwarding? If so, why is it no cheaper than all the other freight forwarders? If you've got a deal for ship2au, fair enough, but this seems to be a deal for Shopspring that you're trying to piggy-back off.

    • Which weigh are you looking at to compare ship2au with Shopmate, when you say shopmate is cheaper?

Secondly, Ship2au offers faster delivery than shopmate too. It's different service level

      • 2kg like you advertised, and various dimensions.

So now you're touting your product as being better? If that is the deal - which you have not yet established - then that should be posted. Not a handbag from an unrelated site that may mean your company has cheaper shipping costs or for which you assert shipping times might be a day less. Can you provide evidence that not only is it a "different" service level, but that yours is superior for the same price? Happy to change my view if:

        • the post is based on your deal
        • you actually have details of a deal

It's really the difference between this site (for genuine deals) and a spam advertising site.

        • I do think you should change your view. It's not true when you say ship2au is more expensive than shopmate for a 2 kilo package. I already showed you the numbers as evidence.

Secondly, OZbargain is a place to share deals, I don't see a problem sharing a good deal we find on other site, if it's a problem, we will be restricted by the moderators. It does not have to be something sold by me.

        • @JeremyZ:

See below. As I said, ship2au is more expensive for many package dimensions. I've shown you the numbers. Do you know what package size comes from ShopSpring? If you do, I'll be happy to refine my calculations, but my figures still show that you are not really the cheapest - not necessarily so even for this ShopSpring deal.

I'm giving you every opportunity to explain how ship2au is offering a deal rather than purely advertising (in a rather surreptitious manner).

    • Our price for 2 kilo is 40.71 AUD, while shopmate is 42.75 AUD. So ship2au is cheaper.

I don't know how you came up with the groundless conclusion - ship2au is much more expensive than all the other freight forwarders.

If there is anything I miss, please let me know.

      • DO NOT misquote me! I did not say "ship2au is much more expensive than all the other freight forwarders". You're not cheaper than all the others, are you - you are not cheaper than one - Shopmate - and that is enough to establish my comment. I did not say you are more expensive than all the others - I cannot possibly check all of them. This site is to provide the best deals. You need to justify why yours is a deal.

        2kg packages:

        SHOPMATE
        40x40x5: $42.75
        40x40x8: $47.70
        40x40x10: $52.65

        Ship2au
        40x40x5: $40.71
        40x40x8: $52.30
        40x40x10: $57.83

Only on the thinner package are you cheaper. Also, your insurance is 4% of value as opposed to 2.5% on Shopmate. That quickly erases almost all of the $2 cheaper shipping option (assuming the package is only 5cm thick).

        • We are using UPS and FedEx, that's totally different service compared to postal service. We deliver within 4-7 business day. If you want to challenge ship2au's rate and the post should not be here, you should find same service(4-7 days delivery) to stand your ground.

          @JeremyZ:

OK. Then you should also post that your insurance is up to 166% more expensive than Shopmate's (though I believe ShopMate charges in increments of $2.50), and that your free storage is 7 days vs 21 days.

Oh - and I just found out that your quoted rates are "based on premium account shipping rate" - apparently 15% cheaper than the "Basic Account rate. So isn't the shipping rate actually $47.90 when compared with Shopmate which has no premium account requirement? I know you have a "one month free trial" for the premium account, but you still need to include such terms in your "deal". Premium accounts are $5.50 per month.

Also, I note you charge extra for "non-urban" areas - around $6 based on a premium account. Shopmate do not seem to mention any such premium.

Many differences. Some more relevant than others. "4-7 days" vs the "5-8 days" Shopmate advertise is only one. I originally focused on the price for which you weren't even providing all the relevant details.

If you have a deal, and your product is better, explain that. Which brings me back to my original point - if there is a deal for ship2au, it should be posted as such. And you should explain that it's the best "deal" for freight forwarding from the US. But hiding behind a handbag deal on another site seems like you are just trying to get extra business off their deal. That is not what Ozbargain is about.

  • Ooooo burn…. But yeh not a deal really cheaper options out their and less bs from their reps and arrogant replies
