If only it wasnt via OGS……. hate those guys.

Why is that? I've shopped with them for many years and always found them great.

      • +1

I think they're great just slow to ship.

i did as well for the first few years, I had a few minor issues with products and had them be very sketchy about backing up items.

Last year I had an item with a major failure out of the box and had them accuse me of all sorts of things and then when they were proven full of **** they tried the old "we don't operate in australia so australian consumer laws do not apply to us" trick.

Was lucky I had a friend who lived in the UK who was able to look up their consumer protection laws which surprise surprise ours are based on and file a complaint with the correct services there, only then did they start to act compliant.

Decided to give them another go this year and things were great for a bit until a similar issue and they gave the same responses as before and tried to pull the "you have no consumer rights" crap again.

Not a fan of companies that pull this, and I know speaking out against them makes you an enemy of their loyal army of followers (of which I used to be one).

Used to think people were making the crap up until it happened to me.

They've even made it onto the ABC show the checkout a few times for the exact same stuff, so I see buying from them as a massive risk :(

You're right, they're definitely a bit sketchy these days. They used to be great years ago but their ownership changed and they became pretty rubbish.

        • @Hoolio: agreed, I don't even look at their prices any more

        • @Hoolio: Interesting… I thought it did as well, one of my mates commented that exact comment on their facebook and got met with abuse with someone posting as them claiming that there has been no ownership change and that people had been spreading "slanderous false information to defame the business".

Again…. sounds like the same person does all their warranty, complains handling and pr…. lol

        • @typhoonadventure: Hey Typhoonadventure, sorry to hear you've had a negative experience with Ozgameshop.com - If you want to private message me your email address on Facebook I'll have a look into any email exchange you may have had with advisors here to make sure all information you were given was accurate. I can't comment fully on the situation without knowing all the details but rest assured I'll take a look into it for you.

Also I just wanted to clarify that Ozgameshop.com has never changed hands, it's always been owned by the same family run business since day one :)

We strive to make all of our customers happy and we do a pretty good job at it, but you don't have to take my word for it, check out our Trust Pilot reviews: https://au.trustpilot.com/review/ozgameshop.com

        • @OZGameshopRep: I dont get where that rumor came from it keeps doing the rounds.

Unfortunately guys, i'm not really looking to do further business, I gave you a second shot previously, and as much as i'd like to give you a third, i've just had too many bad experiences.

Having to call up a friend in the UK and get them to issue a complaint against you under their system to get the ball rolling as well was just too much.

I really do wish you guys improve, but like they say in shark tank, at this point as a customer, i'm out.

Been using musicmagpie and zaavi for games imports and a dutch firm I can't pronounce and have been more than happy with them, even with a few issues.

        • @typhoonadventure: Hey Typhoonadventure, thanks for your reply. Sad to hear you don't want to take it any further but I appreciate your honesty. If you feel you want to chat with us further we're always just a message away on Facebook - I'd be really interested to hear your story so that if anything we did say was inaccurate then we can look to address it - even if you just want to ping over your email address so we can look into it from our side.

As have I. I'd had issues with Zavvi but never OzGameshop.

        • +1

Am I the only one who is lucky in trading with both Zavvi and OZg?

I buy a ton of steelbooks from Zavvi and never have any issues with them. When i have problems, they send me the replacement straight away.

Same to OzG, i purchased games from them and they shipped within 7days. The biggest one i bought was Tekken 7 CE, they shipped quickly and arrived on day of release.

        • @kendo: Zaavi have been really good to me, the only two times i've ever had an issue I had an apology and a refund issued asap and a voucher to spend in future.

Thanks, decided to grab a copy of Deus Ex.

If you use the code SHIPFACE you can get free shipping without spending $50.

  • Bought DeuscEx. Seems like chump change for a game. Hopefully Aus dlc work on this copy.

    • +2

It should work. Australia is part of the European region for Playstation Network.

      • Sweet. All I have to wait for is Deus Ex Season pass to price drop. Which it does every month or so.

        • Yeah I was just looking up the same thing. Apparently it was discounted to $14.95 in August. Should come around again soonish you'd imagine.

        • I've played both dlc's and I thought they were pretty good, especially criminal past I really liked that. Definitely worth it for $14.95. I wouldn't pay more than $20 though.

This is correct. All region 2 games will work with Australian dlc. It's just Asia and North America regions that won't work.
