Gamepad (Controller) for PC

Hi All,

I'm looking for a gamepad/controller to plug in to my laptop my play games such as Fifa/Pro Evolution Soccer.
I like the feel of Playstation's controller or Xbox's.

The thing is I checked online and the prices are quite expensive, reaching around $60.

So if anyone here knows where can I buy cheaper ones, or have any recommendations on what brand/model I should be getting, I would very much appreciate your help.

Thanks!

  • cotd had a phillips wireless controller (looked like 360 style) for $15, might have it again.

  • You can buy a genuine PS2 from Kmart, Targer, … and a ps2 to usb converter from ebay. I think ps2 controllers are quite cheap now because ps2 is outdated. Alternatively, you can buy a genuine wired xbox controller which should be less than $60.

  • If you already have a wireless PS3 or Xbox 360 controller, you can get a reciever for the xbox 360 controller from here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.31880 for $11.15 + free shipping. Or PS3 controller I believe you can modify any bluetooth dongle.

Only helps if you already have a console controller you can share with your pc though.

    • I'm guessing you already have one of these.
Can you use more than 1 controller at a time or do you need another for that?

Also, does it come with the software you need to install it?

      • +1

I know the xbox one you can connect multiple controllers and xbox wireless headsets too. See here for the PS3 software www.motioninjoy.com (just mofifys your existing bluetooth dongle drivers afaik)

The dealextreme link i posted is just a cheap ripoff of the microsoft reciever you can buy, download and install microsoft xbox 360 wireless controller drivers and they will work fine with it (can be a pain if you are running a x64 system, but do-able.

    • thanks for the info, but i dont have any consoles, so i dont actually have any controllers.. :)
