  • Do you know if the free breakfast only applies to the person who booked the room, or for the total number of people in the room (say a room for 2 do both get free buffet brekkie)?

    • Free breakfast is for all room occupants so if for two adults two children all will get breaky

Wow great deal! I’m already an Accor plus member but they have been spamming mailbox with ‘normal’ deals (unlike this one) so I unsubscribed. Thanks OP for bringing this up!

  • "OFFER VALID FOR STAYS
    FROM 8TH DECEMBER TO 11TH MARCH 2018"
I wanted something for Nov. when I go Malaysia. I accidentally booked too many days there, will have to find cheap accommodation for 9 days in Nov..

    • You could use the bonus points offer and amex offers which are valid from now to dec

      • I'm not very savvy when it comes to reward systems/points, but I'll take a look thanks. Also no Amex here.. yet :p

        • Accor has made it easier to use points this year. 2000 points equals approx $60 and you can select pay by points when booking most rates. To be eligible for bonus points promo you must not use your points.

        • you should use my referral and get $75 cash back when Amex approves :)

      • +2

Note that Amex offer only applies to AU hotels.

        • Thanks. Updated info.

        • It seems AMEX offer is only for hotels in Sydney, and you can find the list in "where to redeem"

@Wudi: the t&c say -Exludes Accor Plus, Accor Vacation Club and the following locations:
ibis: Brisbane Airport, Melbourne Swanston St, Perthibis Budget: Melbourne Airport, Perth Airportibis Styles: Adelaide Grosvenor, HarringtonMercure: Gladstone, PenrithNovotel: Lake Crackenback ResortPullman: Brisbane Airport The Sebel: Creswick Forest Resort, Swan Valley The Vines
I think the the sydney hotels list was just a suggestion based on location?

        • @shiningstars: sound reasonable, thanks!

  • With their recent sale Novotel Citigate Hong Kong only discounted their Superior rooms. No use to me unfortunately as I had already booked standard rooms. :-(

  • I got conned into the the plus membership. Not worth it, not even close…

    • Probably not worth it if you don't stay at accor hotels 5+times a year. I just booked my free night at the new sofitel darling harbour worth around $300 a night. I also often use their red hot room discounts and the 50% dining discount so usually it pays for itself in around 3 stays.

      • FUnny i'm trying to book but the 40% discount isn't showing?

      • My feedback last time I joined was that I wasnt stayign 5 times and they offered me the program at the 5th year level where you get free night at any of hotels etc. Is taht one worth it ?

      • +1

Used my free stay on opening day last Friday at the new Sofitel Darling Harbour. Ask for a higher floor, views of the harbour are fanstastic. Accor Plus members don't need to give credit card details on checkin. This worked in my favour when we had breakfast (6 persons @$40 each minus discount) they forgot to charge to our rooms, the breakfast details had been written on a piece of paper. Best free stay in Sydney ever!!

    • How much did you pay for your Accor Plus membership if I may ask?

      • I paid $319 last year when they had a promo. I believe its $349 now for a year.

        • Yeah at that price it's not really worth it. Pm Gaz1 and you can get it for $200 and renewal is $160. A lot more worth then.

        • @nightelves: where is he?

        • @nightelves:

          $160 renewal!? DEETS!!

        • @nightelves:
          Only 160 for renew??

        • @mr_asstight:

Find the username name Gaz1 in Ozbargain and PM him about the Accor Plus membership. He'll give you all the details.

        • you may PM me too, i have the details.

        • Sorry - I was away last week.
Yes, I have a contact that works out to about $200 for membership (PM for details), but I understand that the renewal price is only for members that join on the same offer (i.e. you can't get $160 renewals if you already have membership via Australia).
          Cheers,
          Gary.

  • I have been waiting this for one week :) plan for Christmas trip in AU

  • You can book now and the discounted price is showing up, no need to wait until tomorrow

  • Last Tuesday I made a booking for a hotel that qualified for the sale that was on last week (hotel was in the 30% off band). I added buffet breakfast for two people for only $10NZD (for 5 nights). Just checked, the price has gone up $39NZD with this sale! Glad I didn't wait.

  • Don't forget 2.1% Cashrewards!!

    • Did it work for you? I tried Cashrewards but the page it redirected too had no mention of the 30% sale. I then checked the hotel price and it was WAY more expensive!

      • I did not try booking no, I went to the page via OP's link, and the cashrewards chrome extension popped up showing 2.1%, so i thought it would work sorry :/

        • Bugger. All good mate was just curious.

  • just joined Accor Plus $385. Referred only pays $349 - meaning that you are referred by an existing Accor Plus member who provides your number and name for contact by the rep.
perks for referrer start from a bottle of wine.

    • Did you need read some of the comments above?

      • obviously I didn't, thanks.
with 11 days cooling off period. think I may cancel mind after a 50% off seafood buffet next week.

        • When you go next week can you check whether they check id upon showing them your Accor Plus membership?

  • Do accor status match?

    • No

    • +1

The program is a waste of time.
My accor platinum status is almost over and its almost a relief.
To watch them squirm and try and weasle out of giving your supposed benefits when you were checking in was getting annoying.

Never an upgrade in room and outright lying telling you that their particular hotel doesn't adhere to the program.

      Not recommended

      • Wow really? If that's the case I might not try and pursue platinum status then. Although doesn't Platinum give you lounge access?

        • the lounge access is good I have to admit. But its only you and one guest.
its the no upgrades in about 15 stays as either gold or platinum that annoys me - maybe if you are single traveller but i seldom am.

      • I have found the platinum benefits great especially at Pullman and Sofitels. Having exec lounge access and upgrades are great. Just last weekend i paid $160 a night at Pullman Melbourne on the park got an upgrade to a suite plus exec lounge access with 2 hours of free g&t's and canapes including oysters and freebreaky downstairs. However at ibis hotels i see little benefit with my status.

    how to get 30% off?
I have the same price with member and non-member.

    • +1

I'm experiencing the same issue. I've incidentally been checkimg rates of a particular hotel almost daily for a week prior to this super sale commencing. Now as of today it is the exact same rate as before, even though the room is marked 'Super Sale' in accors reservation system.

Also per above comment the rate is virtually the same accross multiple streams (accor member, non member, booking.com, qantas hotels, agoda etc etc ).

The booking system provides little confidence that the promised discount is being applied.

      • Seconded, would like to know as well.

Signed in and went through process until payment page but still no indication of super sale being applied.

        • If the super sale rate is applied to your rate it will state it when viewing the rate. If it is not you can check if your hotel is participating in the sale and or change the date as the sale is not for periods of high occupancy (eg new years eve etc)

    • Seems all a bit strange. The one I was looking at was $160 per night non-member, logged in and with the super sale it was $146 with breakfast. Hardly 30%, but $14 saving and breakfast for two I can't complain !

  • The AMEX $75 cash back promotion only for Ibis & Novotel hotels? Would it be applicable to The Fairmont Resort Blue Mountain?

    • Just to follow up, that it works!

  • The Amex cashback says the stay must be completed by December. But if you book for a date ahead of that and pay upfront, would you still get the cashback? Seems like Amex probably wouldn't know…

    • I have booked 2 days ago for stay in Dec and today the $75 amex cashback has shown into my credit card statement.

    • @rcastiel, did you try booking for a date ahead of dec? I am loooking to book for March 31 - April 2 (2 nights) in Novotel Auckland ($375 inc breakfast) but am not sure whether I will get the $75 cashback. How does Amex know that the booking is for stays in December 2017?

      Thanks,
      Anant

      • I booked for january. I got the initial confirmation from amex but the discount hasn't shown on my online account yet (two days later)

        • just chatted with customer service—they say the credit is on the way

  • Can anyone confirm if the Amex $75 offer will stack with the 40% accor plus discount?

Amex T&C's state "Excludes Accor Plus, Accor Vacation Club"

    • It does stack. I've just booked it and go the confirmation.

    • Is 1500 bonus velocity points worth all your accor points converted to velocity? I mean I heard using the accor points towards hotel stays is still the best deal.

      • That is the double dip offer. You still get Accor points on top of bonus Velocity points.

        • I think you need to put auto conversion to velocity points according to T and Cs. So all points earned will be automatically converted to velocity

        • @Jared17:

Yeah I think you're right. I thought it was similar to Hilton's double dip. In that case I rather get Accor points instead.

  • I'm looking at Elements of Byron and there is no discount or free breakfast. Is there something that I'm missing here. I can never seem to find discounts on Accor hotels when they have a sale.

    • When we stayed they proudly announced at reception they were not part of accor - although their website says they are.
Means they owe you nothing in receptions view.
Its crap anyway - miles out - you can do better in byron.

  • +1

Booked grand mercure auckland, cheaper than current booking.com cashback promotion. Thanks OP.

    • @Sydboyz did you get the credit for this booking? The terms state that the offer is only valid in Australia. Did you get credit for this NZ booking?

  • Is it worth signing up. By the sound of if you travel aus nz singapore you may most benefit due to dollar value

  • When you accidentally pay with the wrong AMEX - the one without the Accor cash back. Wahhhhhhhh

    • Looks like an excuse for another stay somewhere nice☺

  • This is dodgy as, as per the comments above getting the same rates when not signed in as a member.
