Looking for Good Immigration Lawyer

Hi Ozbargainers,

I'm looking for a good immigration lawyer. Long story short I was born in Australia with only mum and dad here and have separated long ago. We have no family here and its really starting to affect her mental health. I'm personally finding it difficult to move forward with my own life as I'm constantly worried about leaving her behind to advance myself in career or life.

So I figured If I can bring one person or a family here, I'm willing to pay for some god damn piece of mind and freedom. Some would say I have no obligation as I'm a grown man, others would say take care of your parents. For me our history together has been a tough one and I just can't forget the struggle and sacrifice my mother endured to get me here.

I just want to do one good thing for her, and that's bring some family members here so he can have some peace and be looked after while I'm gone pursuing my own interests.

Another reason is said family currently fled Syria and living in Lebanon. They are doing it tough there as they are struggling to find work and make a living there. We have applied through a migration agent for refugee visa but sadly this guy neither provides details and just keeps making empty promises. Funny thing though we haven't paid a cent as they said they will accept payment once they are here. Yet to even hear anything good from them.

I have another family member in turkey who would greatly benefit from being here as they are business minded and keen to work. I find it strange that being Australians we would of had a easier time getting them here but that couldn't be further from the truth.

So with that said, I'm prepare to use my savings to make this happen, either one person or a family, what ever I can afford. If anyone can recommend me someone legitimate who can deliver, I'd be grateful for any help.

Cheers.

  • can't recommend anyone, but wish you good luck!

  • Send mum over to relatives, shes in good company, speaks the lingo and can cook traditional meals for them

    • Not an option unfortunately. She wants them here.

  • No such thing as a "good" lawyer they're all amoral.

What you are after is a competent lawyer who does the job you pay them for. Unfortunately they are extremely rare.

In the past I've found it easier to handle legal matters myself. At the very least start reading up on family reunion visas so you know the process involved and then you will know when the lawyer you hire is not being realistic or truthful.

Source:- Stopped workmate who was the victim of domestic violence from being deported by immigration.

    • Noted, I'm currently doing a 681,842. Once i get the relevant documents I need ill send it through. Its just time consuming.

    • What do you do for work pirate?

  • Send your mum to the relatives.

    Win Win.
