64GB MicroSD Card - Reporting 128GB

Hi guys

I ordered a sandisk extreme pro 64GB memory card for my phone, from a seller at ebay. When I insert it into laptop reader/ mobile/ dashcam, it is reported as 128GB. Plus, the packaging it came in looks shady - as in print quality is kind of shit. I have sent a message to seller. Christmas cannot come early for me as I am certain this is a fake copy of hardware.

Any thoughts? Comments? Rants? Such experiences?

Are you sure that it is not a 2GB card being formatted to look like a 128GB card (with a 64GB label)?

  • Sure it's not 128MB?

nah. not that stoned to read M as G.

  • Sure it's not apple?

  • It's a fake card formatted at 128gb…

The problem is that the 128GB will go on and all seems good… but its not really as it seems as when you take the files off you will see they are corrupted.

  • Reminds me of how we used to drill a hole in the corner of the old 720k 3.5 inch double density disks to convert them into 1.44mb high density. High tech mods in the 80's/90's

Drill a hole? We use to use a hole puncher. Cut a notch on one side with hole puncher and robert is your dads brother. Double sided 5.25" floppy disk.

      • Or remove the mechanism from the disk drive itself so it thinks every 720k disc is 1.44mb

  • Just an update: I've contacted the seller and got a full refund. I have also reported the seller as counterfeit product seller.
