Harvey Norman has the Nokia 8 for $798 outright. Not the cheapest price but still good for AU stock. JB Hi-Fi has it for $899.

Reviews seem good (https://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/nokia/nokia-8/626650/).

It runs stock Android, that's how it's supposed to look. Nokia have guaranteed these to receive security updates and feature updates quickly.

He must have been confused with window mobile os

The software was clunky and old looking

Stock Android? You must have been on some intense stuff.

    This compare to an S8+?

I like that its a straight up Android 7.1.1 Nougat no bloat ware like samsung.

    • It's the same processor I believe (SD835). Guaranteed updates so probably better from a security perspective.

      • +6

Samsung here gets Exynos. SD835 is on the US model of S8.

    • definitely S8+ for its fabulous LED screen : )

  • Great price for a flagship phone! I picked one up from HN this morning at that price (was using a Nexus 5x).

I have a 5X too. The new Nokias seem the successor to the Nexus series. How have you found it so far? Need to plan for when my 5X bootloops!

      • I'm loving it to be honest, you won't be disappointed at all. It feels a lot nicer than the 5x, just need to get used to the fingerprint scanner at the front and position of the volume buttons. I had my eye on this phone for a few weeks and $798 was the cheapest i've seen for AUD stock

    • Serious question, why didn't you go for the OG Pixel instead?

      • +1

I was a die hard google fan but they really lost me with the nexus 5x bootloop as well as when the price of the newer google phone (pixel) jumped over the $1000 mark. I've had nokia phones all my life - it would have been wrong of me not to give them a second chance!

        • You could have got it for the same price that you paid for this though.

Camera isn't as good as what people expected. Definitely not the old Zeiss camera that we used to know.

    • How’s that comparing with iPhone 6s?

      • -4

that is like comparing linux to windows …… they are different but do similar things …. you want apple ios you buy apple you want ndroid you buy android.

        • +1

          I mean the camera???

        • -3

hmm negged because i mention that apple and android are different OS systems , and if you move from one to the other you need to find new apps to replace your old ones ……. i’m on android at the moment but used to use apple.

if it’s a camera comparison, would you switch from apple to android to get a better camera or get a better Iphone as an easier upgrade ?

also,it’s not just the hardware of the camera that determines photo quality it’s also the software driving it.

  • Hella yea boiiiii
