whats the world come to, near $400 for an entry level card, ouch

picked this up for $350 in the ebay wide 20% sale, i wouldn't say this is entry level as there are 1050/ti options too!

you gave me a good laugh :)

      • probably find a better one at pochinki

I think this might be a better deal. Comes down to $388 for a better card. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-AMD-Radeon-RX-580-Armor-OC-8G…

I think even the RX580 4GB is comparable to the 1060 6GB so this might be a good one too for $335

Those two cards are for AMD systems. I agree that they are more value for the money, but if someone is wanting an intel pc this deal is for it.

      • +4

They are AMD cards but they aren't exclusive for AMD systems. AMD cards can be used for any system. Ditto for nVidia cards.

I went with the 1060 in the end anyway. I think it was better bang for buck at $359 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Asus-GeForce-GTX-1060-Dual-OC-6GB…

The RX580 although performs marginally better in most games it didn't really seem to be a significant enough difference for me to bother with considering the rest of my setup.

I don't know why you would pay an extra $120 ish dollars (1060 3GB Version for $263 )for like an extra 10% performance.

Id spend the extra cash and atleast go a 1070 if i was paying near $400

While it cuts down on the cores slightly as well, the VRAM drop puts you in a tricky place for future performance in cutting-edge 1440p gaming. That's a hell of a bottleneck to have if you're buying for a 2+ year period.

That said, the price inflation of the 6gb is shameful.

  • Ah sorry guys, my bad better take this deal down then.

    • Why take it down? Just update it with the cheaper card's details. Still cheaper than any other 1060 6GB I could find.

        Alright will do. Thanks

        • Might as well edit title and link to point to cheaper card.

        • @bamzero: can’t change title and link. Need to contact moderator. I just put the link in description

        • @superbb:

My bad, just noticed you're on your P's up there, guess that's why.

what about this one? this store has been selling stuffs at pretty good prices…

    • That is really cheap. Even if it was a misprint and it was supposed to be the 3GB version that is very cheap

    • Its so cheap it makes me cautious :/ Listed as brand new, perhaps refurbished, lack of detail & no photos
