  • Price is ok but not sure about this generic brand.
"Even though i'm using an even less known generic brand at the moment! :)

    • Generally for RAM, brand doesn't matter.

I'm using A-DATA and Elixir RAM right now, has lasted me 4 years without any trouble.

  • You again? Seriously, I thought you guys were banned? Did you get unbanned?

So when are you gonna make the bonus 2GB RAM free?

About the actual deal, price seems ok. I have heard of Strontium but don't know much about it.

Since when does bonus mean free?

The price difference is about the same as 2GB of laptop memory so you are buying the memory and they are fitting it for you for free.
If you were going to buy the memory from centrecom they want $60 for it so buying the laptop and memory package is cheaper.

      • What does bonus mean then if not free???
In sale terms it is free, not fitted for free at a price to buy the damn thing…

sorry but he has a point…Lenovo laptop pricing is dodg-EEEEEE

Hm, well how about put it this way.

I'll offer you a bonus controller when you buy my PS3 off me, but I'm charging you $50 for the controller.

So much for a bonus huh? I'm putting the controller in a bag for you. For free.

        • exactly - how about when sony offered the ps3 as a bonus on selected tv's how cheezed would people have been if they had to pay for the ps3's?

what bonus could have meant is replacement. eg. bonus 6gb ram when normally its 4gb - so you're only giving 2gb extra free but you can say "6gb bonus" but no way can you ask people to pay extra.

This is a 4GB single Memory

      • My bad, it's $89 for kingston brand Netplus. How much is shipping to WA?

        • $9 Australia Wide

  • Was interested, freight a bit pricey to SA $18, would have bought 2, oh well. Looks like MSY will win again.

Hi, you could chose the satchels option when you check out, it will be $9 Australia wide.

      • Didn't give me the option, only State Based Rate @$18 or Vic Metro Rate @ $8.25.

        • Please chose the second option "Auspost Satchel" $9

    • Yea I thought so too, but this is 4GB in a single stick of ram. It is 1x4GB, not 2x2GB.

    • Actually this deal is the cheapest on staticice
      http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=4gb+ddr3+single…

You need to look at single 4GB sticks, not 2 2GB sticks

      • the thing is, it's better to get 2x2GB rather than a 1x4GB for the sake of dual channel, unless for some reason someone reeeeeeally needs the 2x4GB

  • Brand appears to be rebadged Hynix memory.

I've noted that many of my OEM machines including my Dell XPS use Hynix RAM.

Seems to be fine for everyday ordinary use, but mine at least does not respond well to tweaking.

    • I would never overclock with generic ram :) even though i am at the moment :) i just wont do it again eheh
