[Targeted] Bonus 2GB Data from Kogan Mobile (Kogan's 2nd Birthday)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

First time poster.

Just got a SMS from Kogan, that they've added a bonus 2GB data to my account, with expiry in 30 days. No catch, although I believe it is for existing users only hence the Targeted in the title (Feel free to correct me). Enjoy.

Mod: Moved to forums - Deal is for existing customers only who both receive it automatically and are already notified (there is nothing to redeem for those customers, nor can anyone who wasn't selected get the deal). It's not just targeted but an alternate notification for something already received and notified automatically.

What's the point in posting this lol people who are eligible will get the sms

Lol agreed, but it's worth posting to just show appreciation of Kogan with the amazing service over the past 6 months I've been on it. Plus, spending time on ozbargain > working.

      • +4

That'd be just fine in the forums.

I dont think you understand what OzBargain is.

    • +2

But how are we going to rub it into other people's faces if we don't show it off? I cut my bill by half and got even more data mmmmmmmmmmm

    • +3

Maybe it will bring attention to the kind of service. I'm with this plan and I have to say it's been great. Great value plus they keep adding more data.

there is a point because I have 4 sims that ran out of data which now will have another 2gbs each. if i didnt see this post i wouldnt know cuz those sims are no longer in my phone.

I just wanted to post that Kogan is the best. Cheers Ruslan!

I am gonna port to kogan soon….They seem to be cheapest so far.

Downside is they are not Telstra lines. Not sure how voda is gonna perform

    Vaya plans are getting smashed

    • I'm with jeenee, although 3G network for data I still get 30GB for $45.

This isnt a deal. This is an announcement.

Kogan is seriously going above and beyond with their phone service. With the way they're moving, I'm very curious as to how their upcoming NBN service will be like. I will definitely change if it's competitive (I'm sure it will end up being very competitive if not at the start, just as their phone plans have evolved), as Buzz is just not giving me a good experience despite the good speeds/price.

    • Kogan deals are really good if you get good voda reception, i wish kogan was using Telstra or even optus..

      • i used to be on optus before porting over to kogan, and i can confidently say kogan is outperforming optus hands down.

        • May be it all depends on where we live and travel I have lot of issues with Vodafone networt as compared to amaysim on other sim

  • I did not get the message so I will not celebrate their birthday… :-(

    • Give them time, I just received the text for my shitty 1gb plan.

      • I'm on the 5gb one (6 now) and they just sent the message.

      • Kogan doesnt have a 1GB plan.

      • 1.5 gig actually :)

    • EDIT: oh yeah I am going to celebrate as well… Got mine eventually.

Best thing ive done changing from Telstra to Kogan

  • Performance is getting slower and slower..

Every time they give "free" data.. it gets worse…

This post defies logic, so should get the mods tick.

  • I rcvd the message just now regarding additional 2GB

Got message. Could not be happier with my choice of moving from Optus to Kogan earlier this year. Been great.

  • Just got the text too. Like many people here I'm very glad I swapped over from TPG - 6GB of data a month (vs 1.5GB on TPG's plan) and unlimited calls/texts for the same price as I was paying just last month.

This is like the cherry on top

    • Yes. Me too. 2 months with Kogan so far so good. But we lost $ 20 deposit to tpg I believe…

Also, we need other VoIP app to make Int'l calls occasionally.

    Thank you Kogan :)

How do you actually use this data.
I ran out of data on my normal plan but there is no. Option to use this pack nor is my data working

    • Ditto. I was expecting an extra 2gb when i check my usage but no …. Do i need to do anything to activate?

      • Same here. I guess that's Kogan for you. I just did a reset and when the phone came back, I got the text message saying I was out of data. It was then that data worked again. Perhaps you need to wait until you get the text message. For me, the data had run out maybe 20-30 minutes ago.

Same issue here. Anyone got a solution?

      EDIT: I called up support

Restart your phone to have the bonus data pack switch over

      OP/Mod: please update description.

Finished the 2GB - for some reason I was using that instead of my usual 11GB, and then my data stopped working. Had to call Kogan and their solution was 'try turning the device on and off again', which didn't work… Then they set it manually on their side.

    • Yep, same thing happened to me. I was wondering why my data suddenly stopped working, even though I hadn't used much.
After I read your post, I reboot my device and sensationally, I think I'm now using my 11GB allocation! Thanks!

    • Thank you! Just encountered the exact same issue and a reboot fixed it.

      • Hah! I'm glad my comment is helpful, figured the first point of call would be to come back to this thread for others having the same issue.

    • exact same thing happened to me. Called Kogan and they gave same advice. After rebooting.. its all good..my usual 6gb per month allocation was being used again. So Yeah.. SOP..switch on/off after exhausting the bonus 2gb.
