GP100B

Similar to this Deal, except without the Android OS, it's about ~$30 cheaper.

Better to get this if you don't need the Android OS or already have an Android Mi box.

It has a very good review at Amazon

  • Also a difference in hardware. I believe the Android version allows for:

    WiFi
    Bluetooth
    Ethernet port (Wired Connection)

    • In the FAQ section from Gearbest's site, the rep says it has Bluetooth 4.0, not sure about wi-fi and Ethernet though.

  • Is 720p going to look bad when thrown to 100"?

    • If you watch the youtube reviews, the picture quality still looks good at 100", it plays 720p natively and supports 1080p playback.

    • Ultimately it'll come down to what your expectations are. For $200 obviously you won't get home theatre quality (fan-noise, motion handling, contrast ratio, colour consistency and accuracy). But if you just want something to chuck a movie up on a wall, or use for presentations where those issues aren't important, it's probably a good buy.

720p vs 1080p is noticeable at 100" from about 3m away, but it certainly doesn't look too bad. I'd check and see if the screen door effect (where you can see individual pixels due to the gap between them on the panel) is visible on this particular model.

    • No it looks great. Not sure about this projector but I have a 10 year old 720p DLP that looks amazing on a 100" screen with a high quality source. The further away you sit the better it looks obviously. But at 4m from mine it is still stunning.

Resolution isn't everything. Even low quality movies look good on a big screen and once you get into watching it you forget about the quality.

But if you want up close massive high quality viewing you are looking at the wrong projector.

Why do people buy these cheap Projectors over a decent one that you could actually see clearly?

    Just wondering.

      Price

    • It’s a cheap way of getting a projector.

You just have to set your sights lower and not believe all those stock images.

    • I bought one not because it is just cheap but because I have done my research and based on the reviews of other people who owns it, I'm confident it is good value for money & decent enough for my needs.

It's like asking why do people buy cheap Hyundai over a decent Ferrari that you could actually drive faster…

    • I didnt ask a negative question! Why do I get negative votes for a honest question?

I was just thinking to myself that for a couple of hundred more you could get a nicer one that would be watchable like a TV , surely these "cheapies" wouldn't be clear like that, would they?

      • Sorry about the neg mate, not all people want to spend 5x more for an occasional projector use. Maybe if I have a dedicated home theatre I would be willing to spend more for a known brand, just want to try this as my 1st projector and it seems good value based on the feedback of the current owners.

  • Anybody notice the picture associated with “Game”?

  • How does warranty work on it?

    • To be honest I don't know, but if you've watched the video, there's a 3 years manufacturer's warranty card inside the packaging.

    • That exclude shipping of $34.06 in Sydney, comes up more than $200 aud.

  • Bought one. Thanks OP!
