  • How is the game? I find many youtube videos saying it lacks content

    • +1

Its boring if you don't have friends to play with. I have a group of mates which I do the strikes weekly and its getting a tad repetitive. Much better than Destiny 1 though.

      • Um, i guess it is a boring game for me :)

        • I have been mostly playing solo, which is odd, as many of my friends have it. Of course it is far better with friends, but still enjoyable on your own.

    • I enjoy it far more than the first, but I can understand the thin content comments. I have yet to really get into much of it, so a fair bit to still explore at 60 odd hours in.

      • 60 hours sound not bad, it might worthy a try, but 100 aud is just a bit much i think

I was a massive fan of the first, but this one is lackluster and a big step back, I wouldn't recommend if you haven't bought it yet or don't have a dedicated team of friends to play it with, it doesn't reward the solo players that well.

      • Thanks, I will stay sway for now until it get dirt cheap.

    • Not good based on what existing players are saying. I actually canceled my PC preorder recently.

  • Skip for now. Little to do. Went backwards from destiny 1 by a lot

I saw it as a massive improvement over D1. I am talking about original D1, before the huge overhaul that the Taken King introduced. I had quit long before that came out because of how crap and grindy it was for little reason, but to grind some more. I don't consider running in circles picking up Spin Metal remotely enjoyable. D2 has none of that crap.

        • No spending hours running in circles having to collect Spin Metal and other stupid flowers etc trumps all of that.

        • @snuke: nup

        • @snuke:

No spending hours running in circles…

Not totally correct… what D2 should have been called is Destiny 2: Las Vegas Slot Machine Sim.

Instead of spinmetal/helium filaments/etc… now it’s “tokens” that you get to give to croupiers for a turn on their RNG slot machine. It’s actually worse. Last time I could collect materials and get exactly what I wanted. Now, it’s collect shit and get a go at a chance of getting something I want, but mostly getting things I already have…

4v4 PvP is cancer and every game feels like trials now. IB was a joke. The raid is still full of elitist toss pots and goes against their “more casual player” experience. Grinding for gear is now pointless, as few activities require it.

But, if you are like me, and enjoy sitting down with some friends and just running around and blasting aliens to pieces, then it’s good for that.

        • @pegaxs:

I had completely forgotten what the outcome of the spin metal etc was. I didn't remember that we could buy what we liked with it.
You're right, the slot machine part is annoying as hell the plus side to is having a billion shards to spend on Xur instead of grinding like crazy for very few Strange Coin.

The grinding for the sake of grinding in D1 was so off putting to me that I have forgotten many of D1s positives.

  • As a D1 day 1 and D2 day 1 player, I can provide some decent feedback. That "regresssions" image shows a lot of removed content but most of that was either of little value or none at all. The award mechanics in D2 are better than D1 and are actually more accurate when it comes to "leveling". The solo mission on D2 is far less grindy to level up in comparison to D1 and rewards far better. If you're struggling to level up you're doing it wrong. The public events are now visible and can be enhanced to heroic versions to get better loot and you can almost guarantee getting participants witbout recruiting a fireteam for them. D2 is a superior and more balanced game in solo and PVP. The one complaint I have is not Destiny-related but rather console player-related. People just don't know how to Raid on console and have far less skill and patience. Recruiting a halfway decent fireteam for Raids is tedious at best. If I had a good gaming PC I'd get that instead as it's a far more mature community. If you're expecting D2 to have great story that can hold its own, well look elsewhere. D1 story was promising but in-game poorly executed. I'm a fan so I read every bit of lore and flavour text so I fully know the D1 story and D2 adds to it. For a casual player who wouldn't have bothered going through that effort or played all D1 expansions, D2 would feel disjointed and not make sense story-wise. However if you did do that then this game (D2) is worth it, otherwise stay away. I do have some other complaints now I think about it. The extras in the legendary edition were quite crap. The final boss in the campaign was easy. In fact, compared to the D2 demo and all of D1, D2 itself as a whole is much easier. I miss strange coins too. I own a real one so it has more sentiment to me.

    • Please explain how it's PVP is far superior than D1. I played the shit out of D1 when it first came out and am probably still ranked in the top 1% PVP even though I haven't touched it in over two years.

I was really looking forward to D2 but everything I've read about its PvP has been negative which is why I never bothered buying it. Everyone I've spoken to hasn't had anything positive to say about it.. Kinda glad it sucks cause I don't want to get hooked on it again lol

      • I personally prefer D2 PvP, however, I didn't like D1's where as you did. I think part of that was the weapons, now that auto rifles are actually good/great weapons, I can enjoy it.
I won't play PvP much, it still not a patch on Battlefield or my current favourite, Rainbow Six Siege, but I do enjoy a bit.

      • D1 PVP is easy as balls to get kills. It's unbalanced with some loadouts being OP and the fight over heavy is not a thing and everyone gets heavy for some more easy kills. Don't get me wrong, I loved D1 pvp cause it was easy to pwn and I wrecked in it. I played D1 till D2 came out. I feel that the imbalance in D1 has been addressed in D2. To be honest because I was so used to D1 pvp I didn't like D2 pvp initially.

        • D2 PvP is extremely well balanced but it's not fun. The maps are too small, as are the teams. Sure autos are the meta (and scouts) but the skill gap is so small now e.g. Between best and worst players, and it's all about team shot.

They have made it easier for the casual player but they need to find a way to accommodate casual and competitive players properly by making some way to make skill count more.

Also, not being able to choose your favourite mode is a total joke.

  • Decent digital price. $56.99 for those who want physical (ozgameshop).

Good game, more polished than 1 but very similar and already a little stale for those who played the original a lot.

  • (Thanks OP

  • Hey guys, in short, can you have 2 friends playing online together, and the expansion, with the one gameshared copy?

    • +1

You can have two consoles playing the game at the same time, one of those players would have to be the game owner who can play it on any console at any time as long as they have an internet connection to validate the license to their account.
The non owner can play it, because the game owner has set their (non owner) console as their primary PS4.
