The original was free on Steam in 2021, twice.

It was also a PS Plus game in 2022, I wonder if that counts?

    • Why wouldnt it? If you own it, you own it.

      • It's a little different (for example if you're no longer subscribed then you lose access), that's why I wondered.

        • Oh i see what you're saying, if someone had PS Plus then but has since given it up? Yeah maybe not as they dont currently own the game. On Xbox there's a "my owned games" section so there wouldnt be any doubt but i dont own a playstation so less familiar there.

    • I've run into this many, many, MANY, times with PS+. Unless this one is different, nine times out of ten, the listing on the PS Store will be a separate product, you will have an entitlement to download said product, which is fine and dandy, but what's fun, and this happened to me with Hotline Miami, Resogun, Oddworld, and many others, is once you stop paying for PS+, those new versions will still be owned by you as they were never technically a PS+ game.

Irony for me is in the case of those ones I mentioned, they're cross buy, so in owning one version, I end up owning them all. Hotline was on PS3 PS+, then it came to Vita as a separate downloaded, albeit a free one while I was subbed, and in "purchasing" that download, I became the proud owner of the cross buy version of the game, which ended up including a PS4 port, and the (awful) PS5 version too.

      • Good news then, would be nice if this one works the same way.

    • ooh I actually own it. I new my diligence here would pay off.

    • Yeah, going back on my emails, seems I got it for free on August 3rd, 2022 (must have been PS+). Still subbed til 1st of Nov, but the Enhanced Edition is coming up at $24.95 for me (Complete Edition is $39.95).

It looks like it's only a free upgrade/download for those that actually paid for the original game (I could be wrong).

      • Sigh. 3 years late, but I just realised I claimed Little Nightmares (Full Game Trial) on 2 Aug 2022

I was wondering why I couldn't download the original nor claim the Enhanced Edition (which might not even qualify according to Graffin?)

yes. because if you bothered to read the enhanced version doesn't come out until October, or did you think you'll magically get the update before it's released? smh.

magically get the update before it's released

        Fk yes.

  • I’m abit confused, I checked PS store and I own little nightmares 2, and it tells me I need to pay $39.95 for little nightmares 1, but when I click on it, it tells me I already have it and can download to console? Will I still be eligible for the free upgrade in a few months ?

There's two releases of the original game. Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares Complete Edition. Where the Complete Edition is $39.95 but the base game is slightly cheaper. It was confusing asking you to pay for the Complete Edition whereas you own the standard game which is that you were looking at when you clicked on it and it said you own the game. So check because you most likely only own the standard game version, and not the Complete Edition. You'll likely only get the Enhanced Edition version of the base game.

  • Is this game age restricted?

    • Yes well the Steam page says that it's rated M having horror themes (Australian rating). So yes it's age restricted.

Notice: At the request of the publisher, Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search.
