Google Home Power Cord Replacement

Woke up this morning and my dogs had completely destroyed my Google home power cord.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement? Really not keen on buying an entirely new one. A quick search shows some USA adaptors on eBay. Would prefer Australia. Also, I can't find the Google home support phone number. Anyone know what it is?

  • Its a USB-C connector, so any USB-C should be fine.

    • Hmmm nope. It's a laptop like plug? Where'd you get that it's usb c?

      • OH it is too… Sorry, thinking of the wireless home stuff. They're USB-C.

Hmmmm maybe jaycar, and get some cable to replace the bit between the wall socket and the end bit. ?

Yeah damn. Already tried that. Didn't work. And the cable is in about 10 different pieces. They also ruined the wall adapter. It's super toast. Bloody dogs. I was so angry but nothing I could do.

        • @blergmonkeys: In same boat now due to a shitty workman cutting the cable.. where did you end up? Did you find a replacement???

        • @mooney: any update. I’ve just been fighting with google for 2 weeks and they just don’t give a shit. Only option is Chinese knockoffs.

          Did you have better luck?

  • You could ask Google….

go to Jaycar or similar and get a plug pack thats the same, may not have the same shape but will work.

    Input 100-240v 1.1A 50/60Hz , Output 16.5V 2A

  • Take a photo of it

  • Exact same problem here mate. Broke the cable moving house last week. Called Google to see where I could buy one, turns out you can't buy them at all. Sent them photos etc, and they were willing to RMA the entire Google Home (for some reason they wanted the whole thing), but from any address in the USA because it has a US serial number (damn my early adopting)… Not that keen on paying for shipping to, and from, the US for an entire google home unit, guess I'll see how an ebay knock off power supply goes.

    • What did you end up doing? Did you get ebay knockoff? Am in the same boat now and Google are not committing to help me.

Not yet. Long shot, but I asked a mate at Google if they can source a few. I'll send you and blergmonkeys a msg if it comes off!

        • You’d be a rockstar if you can make that happen. It’s a good paperweight at present.

        • Any joy? I have wasted too much time with Google. They genuinely don’t give a shit. Won’t help.

        • @mooney: No luck mate. Best I can figure is buy a new one (locally), "losing" the power plug, RMA'ing it, then selling one of them once I have a new power cord.

  • FYI anyone still subscribed to this thread, it seems Kogan stocks these now. Very unofficial make, but AU plug so I rolled the dice. Plugged it in today, works fine.

    • that is very odd. they list this as Google Home compatible, but 12v !?

      • it does work, but doesn't stay in the socket very well.
If I had known that Google Home works off 12V I would have hard-wired one of my existing spare adapters
