    This a good rice cooker???

Need to buy one and want a good one that works well

    • I’ve read good feedback from previous ozbargain post here thats why i was waiting for this to go on sale.

      • Thanks. I'm after a small riecooker fit for 1-2 person, how big is this?

        • +2

This is way too big for 1-2 people (although it is a very good rice cooker). There's no problem cooking only the minimum amount of rice, but you will be using like <20% of this appliances capacity. It takes up quite a lot of bench/cupboard space as well.

      • It's a rehashed Cuckoo (Korean famous rice cooker brand) rice cooker. Highly rated brand in Asia. We have similar one in Korean.

    • +1

I own one of these. Excellent rice cooker and well worth the money.

    • Does this also make congee or should I go to those Asian cooking stores that have those Japanese/Taiwanese/Korean models to find one?

  • +1

oops, thought it was ebay code.

  • There are a few other rice cookers on Myer site that are on sale too

Which one would be the best

    • +3

This is the best one for the price, regularly comes up on sale here.

It says 10 cups, in our house its just 2 adults and 1 kid. We cooked the minimum of 2 cups (uncooked) and its just right for us and sometimes a little left over.

    • +1

You could do less than 2 cups, I do 1 in my Panasonic and it comes out perfect.

      • with 2 cups… the rice came out dry compare to 4 cups?

  • +6

    The title is so misleading.
You cannot buy this for $65 unless you purchase something else.

Heck, even if you bought the other item suggested you are still under $100.

The code worked for the two items, it total $94.15 with click&collect option.

Bought this on the last sale and it's brilliant. Rice is great and never burnt. Keeps it warm for a few days. Really happy with it.

    • +2

Days? Is that a good idea?

      • +2

That's a recipe for food poisoning. Nope.

    • Excellent cooker but do not keep the rice for days outside, in humid or warm conditions it will go off real quick, have a smell of it after a few days outside. I just chuck mine in the fridge, can be reheated using the microwave and still comes out good.

    • 1 day because you forgot/couldnt finish/accidentally fall asleep is okay…
      2 days nononono

  • Bought one last time. Works great.

I bought one from Kmart or Big W 6 years ago and still works very well. 10-15$

    • Really fitting the stereotype

    • They don't cook rice as well as ones with fuzzy logic.

  • The reviews don't look good… https://www.productreview.com.au/p/breville-rice-box.html
A lot of people complain that this rice cooker fails within 1-2 years.

  • Great cooker, highly recommend.
