  • :o not bad

    • Haha, thanks Jetship!

  • where was this deal 3 weeks ago? :( very good value with the bigger screen

    • Sorry pm88, unfortunately we were only granted this offer today!

  • not bad

  • 4k model says GTX1070 in title but 1060 in specification sheet.

    • Hi ShinyDiamond - thanks for letting me know about the typo, have updated listing! Definitely a GTX1070 :)

  • hello,

i am going overseas by the end of the week

    got a couple of questions:

    1) is this TRS elegible?
    2) how long does delivery take? ( sydney suburb )

    thanks

    • Hi iamhere,

Yes its TRS eligble, and these are in stock as of right now, so we can ship yours tomorrow via courier (delivery by Thursday if you're in a metro area in Sydney, pending all goes well with the courier and delivery).

      Hope this helps!

      • thanks.

is this possible for pick up?
or maybe click and collect in big w hurstville? (would it be faster? the approx. date is oct 30 which would be too late.)

        thanks

        • Unfortunately pickup is not available at this time for our eBay channel - this is something we hope to implement at a later stage as our eBay operations expand. Sorry about that.

  • Really interested in the 4k model but I've been warned to only run 4k with 1080 or higher only? Any truth to this?

    • +1

Watty - You could definitely play in 4K, just with lowered settings.. obviously a 1080 and 1080ti is better, but the 1070 still can run games in 4K. Just don't expect 60fps with it.

Lol who's the dodgey guy trying to flip this on gumtree already for 1950? https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sydney-city/laptops/brand-ne…

    • Always a few asshats out there!

    • This one only GTX1050Ti Graphics Card.

    • That price for a 1050Ti? Wow.

  • Not too bad price. but only 10% off! if the off is 20% at ebay before, I will buy it immediacy!

  • Some nice recent deals from JWComp. Keep them coming guys!
    Thank you.

    • Thanks congngo! Will do our best to provide!

Any smaller sized laptops with the same specs? 13”-15”? Under $1.5k? I need to replace my laptop soonish…

  • +1

Ouch on the $600 jump between 1060 and 1070.. hmmm

    • +1

      is not worth IMO.

    • Also 4K screen on 1070, but unless someone is editing images on a laptop, it isn't worth it.

      • 4k on anything less than a 27" monitor is wasted anyway considering most people run it at 200% DPI (which is 1080p anyway) in order to read it properly.

        • Yes and no.

My laptop has 4K screen and when I was 3D modelling, I found it very helpful compared to 1080p where the jaggies were very distracting. Outside of that, I found 4K problematic and I prefer to run it at 1920 x 1080.

If I could go back, I wouldn't have got a 4K screen and put up with the lower resolution while 3D modelling.

  • Can someone point me to some reviews? I'm on my mobile and struggling to find reviews for these specific models.

    • +1
      • Appreciate the help. It seems the review unit and the one linked have a different processor (i7-7700HQ vs i7-6700HQ) I wonder if anything else is different.

This video showed that the 1080p screen is lackluster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUDjt4gjMO4

I'm not sure if he is referring to the same screen which is in the cheaper unit for sale here (ignoring the revised shell)? He talks about poor colour accuracy sRGB 65% on the 1080p screen.

In his comments he writes "2016/2017 omen - Cheaper but poor thermals"

        • HP has always had problems with Thermals. Look up "HP Envy overheat" in Google and you will find a whole bunch of pissed off users buying a high end laptop only to have it overheat within 3 months.

  • Hi there, eBay is stating if I order today it is estimated to Canberra by next Tuesday. Is there any chance of it coming earlier than this?
