amazon AU retail is coming to town proper and will be going to town with ebay :)

If you go to Amazon.com.au they are already starting to gather sellers for their Amazon Marketplace. Yay.. maybe not the Oct start as I was hoping but we are very close now!

    • when?

    • +6

Went to David Jones today to pickup an online order. “Oh sorry, one of the items wasn’t available”. No email about the missing item, just a confirmation email to say my click and collect order was ready. Had a similar experience a few years back and I rarely use click and collect.

It’s time for Amazon to come in and disrupt the Australian retail market. It’s long overdue. The ordering system works. You don’t get much, if any, messing about. They sort issues out rapidly and are quick to refund. The returns policy is fantastic and they refund return shipping costs. Bring it on. If they can match the decade of experience I had from them in the UK then I’ll exclusively shop with Amazon whenever possible.

  • nope dint get it again.. 20% for everyone or we will bring our $$$ to amazon!

… and that's the problem ebay will have, if you start bribing people then they'll keep expecting to be bribed, and will go elsewhere if the bribes stop.

  • (profanity) YEAH

Targeted, doesn't work for me. (profanity)

    • There was a really good deal from BigW posted on here a couple days ago.

      • Yeah thanks mate but I’m only looking for the standalone console. :)

i'm targeted too! my coupon is PERK0

  • Didn't work for me. I think i read on a comment here previously there was a way to opt in to these type of promotions, anybody know what i'm talking about?

    • Open an eBay account (or 10)?

  • No one has tried asking support for 10% in PayPal credit? Worked last time for those who had no code on their account.

  • Thanks Op. I just tried the code. It works in my case.

  • +4

I think this not targeted, I can see the banner on the front page without logging in.

Prefect timing just got a new washing machine!

  • Worked, thanks! Had a few things in my cart awaiting a discount code.

Even though the offer doesn't show in your account, it's worth trying the code anyway.

  • Working now I didn't receive it in my eBay summary.

  • +1

Whats the offer period? Doesnt seem to have a date…

  • +3

Worked for me. I can actually get something for a decent price unlike the dodgy 20% Myers promo which made my item go up in price after "discount"

  • +3

Looks like officeworks pulled all of their apple stock

    • what poor form. They'll have to sell those even cheaper later.

  • Thanks OP. Code worked for me.

  • Good timing, as I won an auction for $100 yesterday! Phew, better than nothing! :)

  • is 15% coming??

    • +6

Almost certainly, anywhere between now and 2020.

      • im sure they have to keep doing a 15% when Amazon is here… So u mean next month?

        • When is Amazon opening?

      • only 1 week till next month anyway

    • i'm waiting for Ebay 19th birthday

      • I'm waiting for their 50th.

I have a feeling Amazon has other ideas

  • Worked for one of my accounts. Thanks.

  • Worked for me thanks OP!

  • Will this code still work this Friday 27/10?

  • Quick question I have got 23 items in my cart. When I check out, I get this message - "To make your checkout easier, we've grouped these items for you to purchase first."

Now the total is around $100, but if I do in 2 transactions I have to pay 45 and 55 - So I cannot use this COUPON

Any ideas how to pay together for all the things in my cart? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    • +3

who buys 23 items at once on ebay?

    • +2

Generally these coupons can only be used on 10 items at a time, so unfortunately it seems your items may be too low price to get with this deal.

      • Oh thanks

        • +1

In the past the total in each currency is what counts. Oftentimes the combination of currencies in your basket prevents the buyer from attaining a total that is above the minimum cost, preventing a discount.

This is by design, and yes, it does break quite often- in eBay's favour.

  • Code is buggy, talked to the OP on ebay chat and she's generating me a code :)

  • Superb! And I have got nothing to buy this time, strange.

    • Same here!
Ebay has totally exhausted my needs to buy things :(

  • I got email(s) to say "10% off* everything" .. but dont see any code(s) in my account(s).

    • You don't need to see the code in your account. Just add stuff to your cart and try the code to see if it works.

  • No expiry date.. I hope they don't screw us over and kill the deal tomorrow without warning.

Are there any 20% off sales right now aside from MYER?

    • +6

See here for all eBay codes

      PERK10
10% off Sitewide (Min $75 Spend, Max $500 Discount)
      PONCHO
20% off Outdoors and Automotive from Selected Sellers 25/10/2017
      P20MYER
      20% off Myer 30/10/2017
      P5OZZIE
5% off Site Wide ($30 Min Spend) 31/12/2017

So only 1 other 20% off sale apart from Myer at the moment, the Outdoors and Automotive Selected Sellers deal.

    • These site wide deals never last very long. I'd be surprised if it was still up tomorrow.

  • Only just received mine at 12:03 pm. Thank you eBay!

  • Good stuff!

I made a purchase yesterday for $1350, got in touch with chat and asked if they could apply the coupon to yesterdays purchase which was already paid for. They did it for me no probs, so $135 saving for a sale completed yesterday.

    • +2

Should have asked them if they would honor the 18% off birthday sale

      • +3

and inflation difference since ebay inception.

      • Should have asked them if they would honor the 18% off birthday sale

        Porque no los dos?

  • I buy a lot from eBay, and NEVER get the targeted promotions.
So last week I created a new eBay account, and spent $5 buying two different items.
Sure enough, today I got the targeted email, 10% off to my new account. My normal account, which I've spent thousands in just in the last six months, got nothing.

I learnt my lesson: have a second account, which you spend bugger all in.

    • um.. this deal isn't targeted
