You are entitled to Store Credit from The Good Guys

You are entitled to a Store Credit voucher from The Good Guys following proceedings brought by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

Why am I receiving Store Credit?

As part of the resolution with the ACCC and approved by the Federal Court, The Good Guys has agreed to provide replacement Store Credit vouchers to certain customers who:

  • were entitled to receive Store Credit or StoreCash in relation to Store Credit and StoreCash promotions in the period from July 2019 to 31 August 2023; and
  • did not use that Store Credit or StoreCash prior to its expiry date.

You are entitled to replacement Store Credit in the sum of $50.00 in respect of your participation in one of the relevant promotions in the above period.

        I got my initial credit 4 days after it expired (14 days after I picked up my TV). TGG's couldn't have cared less and blamed me for not contact them on the day I purchased my TV for my bonus credit (I had no clue it was a 10 day expiry). I stopped being a customer with them at that point.

          Same. They made it very clear that if you purchased from them you would get a credit on the 14th of the next month, and it would expire after 2 weeks. And then they sent it late.

          What cemented it for me is when I tried to call up via phone, and no matter which option you chose you couldn't get through to anybody. What that told me is that aftersales service with TGG is on the same level as a guy offering to sell a PS5 for $100 at the train station.

      This is a very hard question due to varying amounts, but you can always grab Laundry detergent or price match eneloops.

      Best thing to do, do your research on what you want, get goodguys to pricematch or beat the competitor then use this voucher on top of that.

      You would have made a purchase in this time frame. I had bought things but never received store credit and gave up hope. I guess that is what happened. ACCC has cracked down with them not paying people so now finally they have paid. Got 2 x $70. Just in time for buying a dishwasher

        Yeah I don't remember buying that much from TGG although now that I thought about it I do remember something a while ago but I thought I did get it in the end.

      If it helps, I also got $120 and this was from a Dyson V8 purchase in June 2022.

      I remember kicking myself when I realised that the credit had expired so quickly.

        I purchased a Dyson V8 that time but it was directly through the Dyson store.

        I purchased something around then was meant to get a gift card and I remember having to email them through the help from here and I found evidence I got a $150 gift voucher and spent it within the 30 day timeframe for a external hard drive.
        I thought maybe I got it twice as I got it chased up Manually but the monetary value doesn't match up.

    I remember buying a Nintendo switch, then they refused to give me the bonus credit cos I didn't have their app setup at the time of purchase. Previously they had sms'd the credit…

    I appreciate whoever made the effort to make the GG accountable. If only insurance companies can be held to similar standards

      This was a seriously dodgy credit scheme that was so hard to redeem it was basically worthless. Good that they were rapped over the knuckles and forced to pay out fair value.

      I thought so too, but I created a new one with the same details (email) and it still had all my purchase history..

      But the credit doesn't appear in your account, it only goes to your email.

    Can someone share the subject of the email? I remember of losing $200 store credit as it was blocked my office email filters (both my personal and office emails were linked to my mobile number. I gave my mobile number to receive the store credit but unfortunately it landed in office email box). I will contact my IT staff to release the email if you could share the title (makes my job easy while requesting them).

    I remember emailing and calling them but same rude attitude but unfortunately haven't gotten an email about this, maybe its being sent out gradually?

    Two years too late for me, sorta. 2017 $300 gc pocketed by Gift Card Planet despite TGG trying (not very hard) to get them to extend expiry date. 2019 govt introduced minimum 3 yr expiries (with exceptions).
