[Price Error] $70 off Meals Delivered @ Youfoodz

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just found this deal. $70 off. Was able to get 8 meals delivered for under $10 bucks. The Mrs also did it for the delivery for the following week. I believe it expires tonight.

The email was worth what I paid for it $0.
So when are you setting up this lucrative hourly humerous email for 69.96/email😋

        • I'll make a OZbargain deal so the first 7 emails will be discounted.

        • +3

          @hell0:
Was that your business's first humorous content? How do I unsubscribe😁

Tip: In market research, 69.96 was found to be a more humorous price

      • +2

If you owned a business and made a mistake with a promotional code, you would honour the deal and leave yourself out of pocket tens, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars?

Why don't we all just give you our bank details and you can make it up to us?

        • I did make a mistake. I accidentally wrote $69.96 instead of $69.95 for my humerous emails business. However, i WILL HONOR the mistake but YOU are not honoring your order for the humerous emails even though you demand your 1 cent back… you haven't even PAID the $69.96 yet…

        • +1

          @hell0:
(I think you replied to wrong comment.)

I've paid by cheque, using my free red pencil - honest any bank will cash it. Refund my 1c to my account at The Bank of ToyTown.

        • @Infidel:

The problem with this deal was that I sent texts to everyone, almost as many as were sent by the YES campaigners recently…

I wrote 'OMG, wake up RIGHT NOW and get to youfoodz for 7 free meals, ARGHHHH - HURRY' and now I have dissapointed.

What did you all expect? That a company would just deliver hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of food for nothing? Why would they do that? looool

    • +2

i wonder if you would even post a comment if they actually honored it (as unlikely as it might be) loooool

    • +3

OK kid, playtime is over, time to go back to kindy.

    • -2

I knew there would be a lot of angry reactions. Enjoying this sh!T. Bring on the negs! Bahaha!

      • +3

I think people are more amused at how immature and childish you are. :)

        • -1

Bahaha! The "mature" people who couldn't figure out that this was too good to be true? What a bunch of genies folks! :D

        • +1

@AussieDaddy: Sure, believe whatever you want. Whatever makes you happy in life. :)

    • +2

Best to take these popular but unlikely deals with a sense of humour😋

Ozbargainers with expectations are often an unhappy combination.

A number of people commented that deal was unlikely to be honoured. My own tongue in cheek comment suggesting cancellations surprisingly made it into the Top Comments list.

      • -1

I know. I am just taking the piss. It's always funny seeing how some members get mad in these kind of situations. I myself got bitten a few times by these too-good-to-be-true deals (DJ, HN, and TGGs to name a few) so these days I don't even bother with them.

        • I was hoping for more irate comments. Got comfy but was disappointed. Shows most realised it was too good to be true.

  • +3

My payment has not been refunded yet (paid $20 for 9 meals).

    • I won't be surprised if they take a long time to refund the payments. Or maybe not at all. They might even give you a useless voucher instead of a refund!

    • If you have had order cancelled, contact them for refund. May take a while to sort out with tens of thousands of orders to cancel.

  • +2

Well, at least I did get code for $20 free…essentially just meant free delivery to Perth

    • +6

But there is a minimum spend

      • +4

That's what I meant..I still gotta spend $69, and with the $20 voucher will offset just the postage..so no thanks, I'll just buy one whenever I want from my local IGA, same price anyway

      • +2

        $69.95! Crazy

        • +5

Putting it into perspective… a WHOLE $8 Woolworths roast chicken has almost the same calories as 7 days worth of meals. Shows how little you are actually getting.

        • @hell0: And $1.50 of home brand rice has as much calories as one $8 Woolies chicken. So… hang on, I don't know what I was trying to prove.

  • +2

Still no cancellation email?? Anyone else?

    • Haven't received one either

  • -4

They emailed another code!! TAKETWO, two free meals worth $20.

    • +1

Trying for the trifecta of your comments with negs in this deal? Maybe one of your multiple orders will sneak through, but I doubt it.

At least I'm enjoying the free $35 Aussie Farmers order that arrived this morning.

    • Slow day huh

  • Looks like OP made the mistake of watching CNN.

    • +4

      #FakeNews 😋

  • -2

Head on over to youfoodz.com & we’ll give you 2 FREE meals to the value of $20! #TakeTwo

Use the code “TAKETWO” at checkout

  • Two free meals, thats nice of them. Don't know why they didn't use unique codes for the two free meals

Is the two free meals free postage?

    • +7

Min spend $69 applies, and postage too..so nah…not really a deal.

      • +3

        Bah. Well that sucks

  • +5

    revoking my plus now.

  • +3

Got all excited about the new email and the code for 2 meals, thought that was half decent of them.
Then I saw/remembered about the $69 minimum order.. Bleh..

Guess it's good for workplaces or for a party situation, very unintuitive order minimum for the individual or small family though.
    Oh well.

  • +4

It reckon it’s a market ploy to make them noticed

    • +4

I will be telling everyone I know to avoid them

  • -1

Doesn't this count as bait and misleading advertising.

    https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/misleading-claims-advertis

    • Distribution of code to winners of competition is not advertising. Recipients would have agreed to t&c when they entered, & agreed to communication.

Distribution beyond the targeted recipients is very bad planning. But not advertising, possibly unless was a deliberate stunt by business.

Business would have details of winners & reject code for the rest of us.

      • +2

They admit as much they did this on purpose…

        • +1

Not what is in their statement.

We did it, Fam. We went VIRAL
 sort of.
Last night we had an exclusive code for competition winners - THEBLOCKFREE - leaked to multiple discount sites.

They just say the code went viral, not that they had anything to do with it or it was their intention. Just it happened. That happens regularly on OzBargain, when someone legitimately receives a code.

Their response was an attempt to be humorous, while letting people down. They tried to made the best of a difficult situation for them & us. Their PR tried to put a positive spin on something out of their control. No business wants the impression that we Professionals are in controlđŸ˜±

That is not advertising or an admission of responsibility for going viral.

It was the approach I suggested they would take, before the cancellations.

But using humour can risk being misunderstood - by those expecting a free meal & angered that expectation was not met (despite warnings) or those non-native English speakers & others who may have more difficulty understanding this business's use of humour.

    • +1

Doesn't this count as bait and misleading advertising.

No. How did they advertise it to you?

  • -1

Would +vote for OP but -vote for youfoodz so abstaining
Stayed up to place an order to find out this morning its cancelled
If code was for comp winners they should have used unique/targeted codes
Will -vote any post from youfoodz in future that is not a true deal

    • +1

      Isn't that victim blaming?

    • -1

I agree, will be downvoting any youfoodz and bad-mouthing them whenever possible from now on.

      • +1

They are on facebook and product review. I expect some unhappy people to voice their unhappiness

      • +4

I agree, will be downvoting any youfoodz and bad-mouthing them whenever possible from now on.

Why? Because you used a code that you were not entitled to, and they cancelled your order?

        That's a bit … entitled… isn't it?

      • Strange - hell0 you posted you had already received order… Didn't receive anything like the negs for your first comment (-45).
Can we trust what you write?

        • I didn't think I needed to put in a disclaimer that the post was a joke… I don't think they doliver within 45minutes of ordering online. That's not even enough time for their chefs to get the chicken cooked!

        • @hell0:
Never know… I could drive to their factory, pick up & back in about 1 hour.

You seem to revel in those negs.

  • -4

Great way to ensure my family and I never shop at your business. +ve vote revoked.

    • +4

You used a coupon code that you were not entitled to, from a store you were never going to buy from, and somehow think they screwed you over.

I don't think they'll be losing out on much!

      • +1

If they didn't want the coupon to be used by everyone then they should've gave unique codes to each of the winners. Not my problem they're incompetent.

        • +1

So because they didn't use unique codes, you think you're entitled to the $70 discount?

        • +3

          @eug:

Exactly. Once again, if you don't want everyone using your code, then don't use a generic code.

        • @eug:

Yes, I agree with you, def should be entitled to his foodz.

        • +2

@nurries: OK, hopefully one day you will make a mistake, and someone will notice it and take advantage of it, making you lose a lot of money. You'll just happily accept it right, because they are totally entitled to your money.

        • @eug:

The money isn't 'lost', it's 'transferred' to someone else…

      • I am still waiting for my negs to reloaded but here you go have a neg.

  • +3

C'mon guys, I wouldnt be too hard on them. It was an obvious mistake that we were all hoping they would honour. But in reality, it was too good to be true and the business would have been losing money hand over fist

    • What i am wondering is, if a customer makes a mistake paid $70 and wants to cancel, would they be so nice to cancel it just like that?

      • +1

Yes, you just have to cancel it 48 hours before the order cutoff time.

  • i cancelled my lne for youfoodz and then they do this
they didn't make a mistake with taken my money and still hasn't been refunded !

  • +2

This was 100% a publicity stunt, I just saw an ad/commercial on YouTube with the promo code of two free meals.

    • +3

All that means is they gave us an already advertised promo code for two free meals… If the $70 of free food was advertised on Youtube, then maybe you'd be right.

      • If they were sincere with their apology, they would have done more than the $20 promo which anyone is entitled to. Did nothing for those who placed an order.

        • Hmm so… apologies are only sincere if you receive a monetary benefit, even though everyone who placed an order were aware that they were using a code they weren't entitled to, and the order might get cancelled?

  • N/A

  • they cancelled the order at the end

  • how did you find the code tho

  • +3

3 pages worth of people copying + pasting the same email? How about actually reading the commenting section haha seriously boys a simple +1 response or a 'yea same' as a response to the comment. Is it the same people who do all the talking in their conversations but never listens?

    • This one?
We did it, Fam. We went VIRAL
 sort of.

Last night we had an exclusive code for competition winners - THEBLOCKFREE - leaked to multiple discount sites. Unfortunately, the code you’ve used to place your order is valid for competition winners only, so your order/s will be cancelled and any cost incurred will be refunded.

However, we don’t want you to get too hangry and would still love for you to place a fresh YF order so you can ditch the groceries for a week!

Head on over to youfoodz.com & we’ll give you 2 FREE meals to the value of $20! #TakeTwo

Use the code “TAKETWO” at checkout
Offer expires 2nd Nov 2017 at 1:130pm AEST

  • -1

Imagine if I placed an order for 4000 meals and then a little while later I said 'Oh sorry YouFoodz fam, i don't want them anymore'… they would take me to court for the $$$.

They did also state in the cancellation email that 'Any costs will be refunded'. What costs can I claim?

    • +2

They don't have to. You would have already paid them when you put the order in.

  • Still no refund or email. I am a regular customer… so maybe that’s why

    • Mine was in spam, have you checked there?

  • +4

Wow the entitlement of some people in this thread.
Seriously expecting them to honour thousands of special orders meant for only a few competition winners.
Was nice of them to offer the 2 FREE meals coupon to everyone but the $69 min spend is a turn off.
$40 or something min spend is more fair for those wanting to try it out.

    • Should see the new youfoodz deal posted, all of the negs are from people having a childish sook.

  • Hey Fam! A code used to place your Youfoodz order is invalid. Your order/s will be cancelled & any cost incurred will be refunded. We'd love you to place a fresh order with 2 FREE Meals: just use the code 'TAKETWO'. Questions or concerns? Call 0736330708 or email [email protected] xx YF

  • Just got a Refund Notification and Order Cancellation !! So, they are cancelling

    • +1

Maybe you should scroll up a bit. :)

    • +1

This is a lesson we all must learn. As quickly as they invited us into their family, sending animated gifs of their chefs cheering our orders, they quickly turned and ousted us from the group with a big swift kick up the backside. Easy come, easy go.

      • +1

        Sounds like many families😕

  • +11

Guys this is the only person from Ozbargain who will receive their order.

    #notFakeNews

    • +1

at lest they won't have to hear everyone else's opinion on the product, likely 'ok, but not worth retail price'.
I think they will enjoy it more now, but still feel the pain.

  • -2

Still haven't refunded message about refund my money.

    • +1

      Come again?

  • -2

I just got an email saying they will give me 150 free meals because i bought 8 meals which totalled $80 followed by the $70 discount. I guess the cheapskates who didnt spend over $70 get nothing!

    • I spent 80 and got nothing!

    • wow 150 free meals, they must love you

      • Being as honest as i am, i will probably cancel shipments at 140 or so.

    • -1

      Cool story, bro

  • +2

I paid some money, they cancelled the order, I'm sure it will be refunded, no stress.
$20 voucher via email, fair enough, might as well try it … $69 minimum order … no thanks, please remove me from your spam list now.
