Edit Update October 31 Tuesday 3:54pm Australia Eastern Standard Time: back to normal price of $299 USD plus shipping or $50 USD more expensive than sale price. Still good value but not as much as when it was on sale.

Just spotted this, sorry for the delay this took about an hour to write up nicely.

Prices may be iffy as I am using a MasterCard with their currency exchanges but generally this price for this tablet is very good atm bar Black Friday and Cyber Monday extreme deals.

Great tablet seems to be on sale for a few days although camelcamelcamel is showing it as already back to the normal price of $299 USD so a $50 USD savings at $248 USD is great. Hasn't been this price since near one month after release I would buy it now if you are looking for an android tablet.

I own one and can vouch for its awesomeness.

Watch videos in up to 1440p video quality on YouTube and up to 2560 x 1600 off of other sources.

Plays awesome games awesomely never had any stutters or lags or problems.

Never misses a beat and I run this tablet pretty hard (over 500 apps installed at one time currently only 300), Firefox with infinity tabs aka over 100, running Facebook, messenger, a few email programs because I am lazy to reconfigure and countless YouTube videos.

My no.1 ozbargain recommendation for a 2017 android tablet besides it's bigger brother the Asus Zenpad 3S which is at normal non-sale prices cheaper and larger.

Personal additions:

Bought a 3m / 10ft Anker Powerline+ nylon braided micro USB to USB cable about from cablegeek a long time ago last year I believe and works great although they don't seem to stock it any more or atm but there is an Ozbargain rep you can speak to on here by the name of Cablegeek I guess if you have any other questions.

Bought a local 2 port 5V 1A/5V 2.1A USB wall charger for like $5-10 AUD from Big W (the Huawei Mediapad M3 uses the 5V 2.1 A port).

Don't know how long this deal will last but maybe no more than a few days could be hours so get it while it's hot.

Thanks again Ozbargain and as always let me know if you find anything new or wrong with this deal post.

  • I'll bite for around AuD 275

people still selling second hand mediapad m2 in gumtree for $315 hahaha dreaming.

    • Yeah $275 AUD is a good number I would say for this device.

I only bought higher because I literally had no other modern day device and I was doing stuff like emails and checking online stuff on an ancient device that couldn't even handle 480p video.

Was a nightmare for many years since my last laptop died.

Lol yeah damn technology upgrade cycles. This M3 dirt cheap pricing compared to the market is gonna drop a lot of last gen gear like a motherfather.

      • It's hard life without laptop but if mine dies I will still get another Windows laptop. get used to the keyboard and mouse feeling….

        • Very true can't deny that. Windows is king for everything even over Apple's exclusive system. Android is near dead last imho maybe tied with linux and other smaller ecosystems.. and I say this as a heavy android gamer and user atm.

However I want to ditch Android but the amount of progress and development on it is crazy and growing all the time it being the poorer man's only real choice for portability. Wish "PC" Linux had this level of development but last time I looked it was "okay".

  • Damn it, I ordered a Lenovo P8 (Tab3 8 Plus) yesterday for ~$187, not sure if I should cancel and get this instead hmmmmm

    • That's a pretty decent price for the P8. Where did you get it from?

      • Check the massive gearbest deal thread. There is a code to bring the price down.

    • +1

Yeah that is a very very good tablet for a very good price.

Imho I wouldn't cancel it as for what you paid it is decent.

Unless you really have no other device that can handle what you need or want to watch YouTube videos at higher resolution it is a tough choice.

Personally I couldn't go lower as this tablet being my next and only daily driver for many many years I wanted the best the market could offer at the best value and today as of 2017 October this is it.

No tablets can do 4k afaik or at least at a price that wouldn't cost an equivalent gaming 4k pc.

And 8 gb ram is only on the latest of smartphones and some Windows tablets afaik so far so probably will take until at least next year or the year after for it to hit android tablets.

As far as this tablet goes you a little bit extra for premium and futureproofing but from my perspective it is hell worth it.. I finally feel like I am holding the future haha lol and not just watching it lol.

      Feels good man.

    • Yeah it's on gearbest, still the same price

  • Im struggling for this. $350 for this 8 inch android tablet or ipad 2017 version(Kogan grey import during promotion) ????????????????Missed last promotion but can wait for next round. :)

    • Tough call. Obviously this has more performance and better specs but the Apple ecosystem imho has tonnes of better apps and even exclusive ones.

      Tough call.

Needs usb C for me to consider. If it had that I'd be all over it.

if anyone still looking, its back again today - Black friday deal 1 day only - $US234.37 shipped.

    • Good catch. Damn Ozbargain needs a repost button.. can't unexpire it or republish/repost. Someone with more time on their hands can maybe repost this deal? It's a good tablet.. Will maybe do it if I have time later.. heading out now.
