    both of them?

    • +1

No, they can be used separately however they will automatically applied at the first 2 valid hot drink orders

      • +4

If you can find someone who accepts 'Hey You'.

Harldy anyone outside of the CBD does.

  • Is it 2 free coffees from the code and an additional coffee if you use a referral? (ie 3 free coffees in total?)

  • +1

    Damage control

  • +7

They are forcing people to keep creating accounts ….. :p

    • +3

Probably trying to get numbers up to look good for prospective buyers.

      • Our numbers are looking great, we signed up 5,000 new customers in the first week of November alone.

        • +20

4000 is the same person …. lol

        • +9

          4000 is the same person

He won't be able to sleep until after Xmas…

@jv: He could go to Manila for a working holiday as a Senior Java Engineer

          @malouphix:

          as a Senior Java Engineer

          Are you mocha'n him?

        • @jv: Perhaps, the hipster burnt his tongue. He sipped his coffee before it was cool.

        • +4

WOW - November hasn't even started and you've already got 5000 new customers for November! Your reporting team must be drinking way too much coffee

        • +3

          @jv:

Doubt it, if it is anything like their last "offer" they'll cancel those free coffees within the first 36 hours due to abuse.

Any way to see venues near me by map?
    Without actually creating an acc

    • I had the same question…I just gave up and installed the app. You can search for venues without having to turn your location on (if that's any help).

    • You can download the app and view cafe's without logging in can't you?

  • +6

Watching this deal for the next drama

    • +6

Great deal til they revoke it tomorrow morning.

  • +2

    What is banned tag ?

    • A new blend of coffee

  • Hey,You! What's better than $2 coffee??? Free coffee of course!!!

  • +13

Is this the same group that offered a bunch of free coffees to new users previously, then revoked them? Don't think I want to even bother dealing with them if that is the case.

    • +1

      That's them…

      • +2

Yup, I won't bother either with them from the last debacle and the fact they charge extra

    • From my memory it only happened once but no problem with the second time.

    • +3

Tbh, that case was understandable. Some guy probably not associated with hey you gave out a code which seemed too good to be true because it was and was targeted for some random other guys. It is like how recently, some food company had a code for $70 off which was obviously too good to be true but we signed up just in case the orders proceeded anyways. Can't complain with two free coffees since this code is actually intended for the public.

  • Do they require phone validation to create an account?

I've no hesitation in creating a new account after the bullshit they pulled last time.

    • Yes they do require phone validation.

      • I don't think so.

        • Sorry, you're correct. no phone validation needed.

    • That was the last last time, last time no problem

  • Lol, straight into the penalty box.

    • -1

      The coffee was bad

    • Did you get to see what got them sin binned?

      • Still a mystery… probably an auto-ban for multiple accounts/sockpuppeting.

  • -4

    Free coffee always tastes disgusting

    • +2

Just put $4.20 into their donation box, that might change the taste of your free coffee?

    • Workshop is included

  • +3

Tried this app before. they're not so much "hey you", they're more like "F*** You".

Cheaper to buy a keep cup and get a regular upgrade or 50c off every time, and less waste.

or in true OzB style, use the machine at work!

    • I don't know any coffee places in Melbourne CBD that give 50c off for the use of a keepcup. Not any good coffee places anyway.

      • quite a few chains do, just ask. boutique places may as well if they're the unwashed organic save the planet kind of places.

        • "chains" generally not a good sign of quality coffee.

Other boutique places do give discounts, not 50c though, that is high.

        • @serpserpserp:

Not always. Jamaica blue and soul origin near me taste fine, and JB were giving away their own branded keep cups the other week too!.

most coffee here is fairly decent, Australia seems to 'get' decent coffee (except blend 43 what the Flip is THAT all about?!?!) I challenge anyone who believes themselves to be a connoisseur" of coffee to the point where they're losing sleep over it to just make their own at home using a grinder and their own bean selection, rolled on the thigh of virgin maids (or is that cigars, I forget?!).

        • @seraphim2017:

Don't care about making it at home, but the difference between a boutique coffee house and a Starbucks/Gloria Jeans/Jamaica Blue/Coffee Club/Hudson etc is extremely noticeable and yes, I would be able to tell the difference in a blind taste test.

        • @serpserpserp:

wow, you must love your coffee, I'd never let someone blind me just to get a better drink!

          :)

if you buy boutique coffee though, does the price really matter?

        • @seraphim2017:

Same price as Gloria Jeans/Jamaica Blue/Coffee Club. They are all rip offs!

      • +1

My local JamaicaBlue does give a discount for using a KeepCup, not sure if you can use other KeepCups but i use there KeepCup since i got it free last week.

        • -1

I use their keep cup and just make instant coffees :)

35c a coffee can't be beat, even if it's not as good as the Cafe ones.
Still Nescafe Caramel Latte is alright.

  • Great deal, there's only a couple of venues in Adelaide but its worth it.

    • Only like 7 in all of SA.
      3 in Adelaide CBD

  • +1

Sin binned? Wow, that escalated quickly…

  • +1

just like last time you stripped the free coffee away!

  • +4

I used to use this daily for at least a year straight, but after the

continuous logging out in the ap
    being charged a merchants fee
being sent a targeted email about answering why I don’t use the app anymore in offer of a free coffee, then being told that email wasn’t meant for me, and therefore no coffee for my response
Loading a free coffee code for the code to be eventually cancelled

I will not be using the app anymore.

Seinfeld boycott reference anyone ? SCAB SCAB SCAB

    • Negging for the same reason.

  • Comment to neg reasons as above

  • So, all the 24 coffees should be eaten on 01 Nov?!

    • Wow the alternative to a keepcup just eat the coffee and cup!

  • Do you have to redeem free coffee on 1st Nov? Or does this get loaded up to be able to use anytime?

    • From the description it looks like 'code and offer' are valid today only.

      • I think you can redeem the code today but you don't need to use the credit today.

        • If only we had a rep who wasn't sin binned to answer this definitely..

        • @pifts:

Valid for new users only, code and offer valid on 1st November 2017 only. Coffee credits can be used any time after sign up, automatically applied upon checkout.

This is what the OP said.

        • @superforever: Yeah thought it meant gotta use up by 1st Nov but hard to interpret it that way. Seems there's literally nothing stopping people from making 10 accounts..

  • +1

It’s more like ‘Hey, Where are You?’ to me. The nearest cafe is not at all convenient at home or work.

  • +2

No complaints here, enjoying my free coffee.

  • I just tried for a colleague and it says invalid referral code

  • Contrary to all the naysayers, its Worked for the 3rd time now

  • code worked but it doesnt really tell me what I got or no credits listed in my account.. So it seems it just comes off at checkout but I wonder is it only valid for a small coffee?? Or any size?

    Thanks

    • Worked on large for the place i ordered from +$0.50 but still deducted to total $0.00

    • Code applies at checkout and works for all sizes + extras

      • Yeah it's great extra shot extra choc XL mocha cost me nothing but was worth $7..
        Wow.

  • Thanks OP! Upgraded to large + extra shot for no cost!

    • +2

You should upgrade to jumbo at no cost

  • Enjoying my free coffee. Thanks OP!

  • Thanks got mine

  • Thanks OP! Drinking my coffee right now!

I registered with a new email address and was able to redeem the voucher (same phone number).

    • +1

Did you refer yourself from your old email address?

      • No because that would've been smart and I didn't think of that!

  • I'm another one of the "I use this multiple times per day, 5 days per week, for over a year" crowd.

Works great for me. No concerns. Cafe I go to, has cheaper pricing on the app than if you walk up.

  • -1

These guys must be bleeding money… the.only reason I would ever use this app is to get a free coffee. I would choose to order from the barista and have a little chat than use an app and save a minute or two. With the maccas app there's not really anyone to talk to (different staff every time and they are in a hurry/teenagers with poor social skills) so using the app makes sense. Plus with the vouchers you usually have to spend something so they probably aren't losing any money. I actually ordered with the app and no discounts a week.or two ago (shock! Horror!) Even if Hey You offered half price coffees or something I wouldn't do it, because my fave place isn't on there, and I'd rather pay full price for my favourite place than half price elsewhere. Plus the elsewhere is a far walk from town away from the shops so it would be a big waste of my lunch time.

    • wow, you should be rewarded by a free coffee for your direct & honest opinion… better fill-in their survey for a free coffee next time…

      • I've never gotten a survey

        • +1

Here's a tip, have 2+ accounts and then use one for your coffees. The other one after a week or so will be emailed a survey (literally press a link and you get a free coffee)

  • How do you see if the promo has worked? I entered the code on sign up but don't see any notification of the free coffees

    • +1

Just add one to cart to see if it is free.

  • Thanks OP

  • So there’s maybe 10 in my general region but over half are marked as “Offline” does that mean I have to actually be in the store to order the coffee? Are they just no longer with hey you, if so why show them at all, I don’t get it

    • I believe it means they are not accepting orders at that time. They should be online within their opening hours.

      • Ahhht that may be the case I was leaving for work when looking at it so it may have been just before opening hours thanks :) will loook again today.

        • Sometimes it actually means they haven't turned on their Hey You ordering because they can't be bothered with it anymore. There was a place I use to frequent that did that often.

  • Revoked the free coffees again.

Normally I'd say it's worth a shot, but not in this case.

  • Found out you had to use it shortly after. They deleted my account that I put it on
