Guitar Hero Live for a PS3

I am wanting to get a Guitar Hero Live for a PS3 for a 7yr old. Is it just plug and play I don't need the PS3 on the internet? Is it a good game? He likes his guitar but can't play a note and has never had a lesson. Will he be able to play it at all? How easy is the easy setting?

Thanks for any advice.

  • Guitar hero is a rhythm game on console - nothing to do with learning to play guitar. It’s a lot of fun with friends and is about timing and colour matching. The ps3 games are quite old (if you can find them) as I believe guitar hero live didn’t release on ps3.

Try eb games second hand if you can’t find new in store.

Easy mode is very forgiving and it’s got a good difficulty curve.

Hint: buy the game with the best song list!

Guitar Hero Live is on the PS3 and I own it thanks to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273047

Yep it's a good game and worth buying in my opinion. There are 42 songs on the disc which will keep him going for a long time and they do not need any internet connection to play: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Guitar_Hero_L…

He will be able to play. On the beginner difficulty level, all you need to do is strum with one hand in time with the music without pressing any buttons. The next difficulty level up introduces one row of three buttons to press with your other hand and the notes still come quite slowly down the screen. There is a "no fail mode" so you can play through each song even if you are not playing so well.

    • Thankyou very much Perdo it sounds great I'll grab one for him for Christmas.
