Also £99 at asos.com but there is no discount code at the moment.
    http://www.asos.com/Beauty/A-To-Z-Of-Brands/Ghd/Cat/pgecateg…

    Shipping is £10.50 flat rate.

  • £8.50 service charge disappeared for me. Got it for £80.12. Cheers!

    • +3

Paying by Paypal removed the service charge.
It was about AU $131 (£80.12 @ PayPal exch rate of 0.61)

      • Got the same price. Excellent deal. Thank you OP.

    • .

  • sweet nice

  • Hey,

So how long is the deal on for any of uz know? Does it seriously work?

    Thanks

    • it's been that price for a while now..
i bought mine on hairhq about 3 years ago and it was still at a mucher lower price than you could get in Aust. The price is just getting sweeter with the strength of the dollar!

  • +1

checked with the paypal FX rate, it comes to apprx $176 !

    Still worth it ?

    • you won't find one in store for under $250

    • As with another commenter above, PayPal quoted me an exchange rate of 0.61p per dollar, which converts to AUD$131 from £80.12. I'm not sure where your $176 came from.

    • Pay wil paypal and the price comes down to $132 (after the discount code in the checkout and then paypal removes the 8.50 service fee). Also you can find them for much less than $250 given that the official website has them for $239 including free delivery check: http://www.ghdhair.com/au/ghd-iv-styler.

Still a great deal, I just bought one.

Nice price, but will you need to buy a converter to suit our Aus power points?

    • +2

You'll need an adapter as they will have UK plugs.

      • +1

pretty sure they sell those on the website for pretty cheap also

        • you'd get one from somewhere like Bunnings or Dick Smiths for under $10. Either that or buy a 3-pin plug and chop off the UK one then wire the standard one on.

    • I emailed the company about the plugs as this is the reply I was sent:

      Thanks for your email.
All our GHD straighteners are multi-voltage so can be used anywhere in the world. However, they do come with a European plug so you will need a trans-continental adaptor, which can be found on our website:

      http://www.hqhair.com/tools-electrical/go-travel/trans-world…

You can find all the GHD Stylers at: http://www.hqhair.com/tools-electrical/ghd/products?cid=8026…

      Take care.

  • Great price:)

  • anywhere to buy a cheap ghd that has an australian plug? dont want to use a plug converter all the time…
    cheers

    • +2

u can easily change the plug.

      • manually change you mean? i guess its easy enough to do :)

  • +1

Awesome. Just bought a Christmas present for my wife! At around AUD$132 on Paypal that is a great deal.

    • howd u manage to get that rate ? on paypal fx rate is as below

      1 AUD = 0.610920 GBP

      • +1

At an exchange rate of 0.61p per dollar, £80.12 converts to AUD$131.

I paid via PayPal and the price with shipping was £80.12.

        • 15% off on 99 is ruoghly 85 + 8.5 shipping fee + 8.5 handling fee = 102 / 0.6109 = 166.97

edit . forgot about the VAT that we dont pay.

        • As Dobs commented above, "paying by Paypal removed the service charge".

Edit: You're right that it doesn't add up. I just checked my email, and it says:

          Styler £99.00
          15% discount -£14.85

          Subtotal £85.15

          Shipping £8.50

          Paid by PayPal £80.12

Which matches my emailed PayPal invoice.

        • I just bought one for my GF and it was £80 too :)

      • you really straightened her out then didnt ya!

        • -cringe- haha!

  • I found it cheaper on this site, but has anyone used it before
    http://www.newghdsuk.com/

    • That website might sell fakes, its not on the verified list at http://website-checker.ghdhair.com/counterfeit

      • Yeah and go on the site and read the FAQ information. Poor English, and poorly compiled.

    • definitely fakes…WOT flagged that website as bad

  • Top stuff - thanks :)

  • Can this work on 240V?

    • GHD IV is dual voltage. Works on 240V but will most likely require an adapter to plug it in to our sockets.

      • The UK also runs the same Voltage/Cycles as we do..
so any electrical item bought there will work here with just a plug adapter (or chop off the hulking UK plug and install an Aussie plug)

    • +1

again, flagged as a bad website…

      fake

      • thanks….I think I better get one from the above site

  • So are people buying from HQhair or Asos?

  • Just ordered 4 from HQhair for 307.47 GBP = $490.03 AUD / 4 = $122.51 each. Good deal. Thanks zzyss for posting.

  • do they have international warranty?

  • Just bought one too! What a good price!
    Cheers zzyss!

  • is there international warranty on these things? what if it fails after 2 months or something, who do i contact? GHD Australia or HQHair. posting it all the way back to UK may be a hassle.

    • +2

Unfortunately not… see the 3rd point on this page:
      http://www.hqhair.com/info/customer_services

"Your GHD hair straighteners are covered by a 24 month manufacturer's warranty held with Jemella (GHD).

This warranty entitles you to a repair or replacement of your faulty hair straighteners. Simply return them with proof of purchase and a covering letter including your own address and a brief note explaining the nature of fault to:

      Jemella Ltd
      PO BOX 397
      Keighley
      West Yorkshire
      BD20 0WX

If you have any queries please contact the Jemella customer service department on: 0845 330 1133, or for when dialing from outside the UK: +44 845 330 1133.

We strongly advise that all returns are sent via a method of recorded delivery in order to ensure safe receipt. Jemella will provide you with a Special Delivery envelope to return them if you contact them prior to the return.

Please allow approximately 1 - 2 weeks for the return delivery of your GHD's."

GHD themselves are not an international company. Even the official site requires returns to UK:
      http://www.ghdhair.com/customer-care/returns

I guess when you buy from a local retailer they have their own arrangement with GHD through the supplier… you get what you pay for!

      • ahh, that's too bad. i guess the >$100 in savings can make up for the lack of Australian warranty, per se. hopefully the GHD quality will last me years! btw, i got the GHD IV Mini for myself.

    • It would be best to contact ghd Australia to verify this.

      How can I contact you?
      Australia

You can call our customer service team on 1300 ghdhair, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm (AEST).
You can also write to us at: Jemella Australia, PO Box 15516, City East, QLD 4002. Or you can contact us via our online form.

  • Price is now £92.65 when using PayPal.

    • You need to log-in to your PayPal account to see the amount that will be charged.

      • that is true. just ordered mine and it came to ~£80

      • Thanks - was just a bit worried as you have to accept the T&C's before it takes you to the PayPal page with the cheaper price!

  • Excellent price ! I already have one and it was double this price !!

  • Ordered - approx $131 after conversion.

  • Is GHD really that good? Worth triple the price of similar products?

Missus bought a $50 VS Sassoon branded styler (made by Conair) not long ago and she wasn't impressed at all. It's now sitting there collecting dust and wasting space.

Should I buy this GHD to surprise her?

    • +1

      Yes!

    • My daughter has really curly hair (and hates it). She tried other straighteners without success. She has this model GHD and it works. I'm so impressed with hers I'm getting one for myself. So if your wife wants to straighten her hair, I'd say she'll be happy with this. Hope this helps :)

  • This is a great price!

  • @browser - I think she would be very happy as they are considered the 'rolls royce' of hair straigtners :)

    • +3

Probably not the best example at the moment. With Qantas having trouble with Rolls Royce engines =P
      lol

      • haha true point taken…let's just say it's the must have brand.

  • Good deal, Thanks.

    • +1

You're welcome. Sure is a change from the recent spate of free iPhone apps, doesn't it? :-) Hahaha…

  • Please girls dont ruin your hair, if you have curly hair leave it natural. Nothing worse than dead straight fake hair!!

I love curly/wavy hair on girls, they should keep it like that instead of ruin it with hot brushes :(

  • +1

Just as a heads up, you can get a plug adapter from $1 delivered on eBay to go with your straightener:
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-AU-TRAVELING-PLUG-US-UK-EU-CONVER…

Or, alternatively, just go and purchase a Korjo from somewhere.

    • I had the same thought initially. But I think it's worth spending money on a branded adapter. Wouldn't want to burn your house down for the sake of a $1 eBay adapter.

  • Thanks a lot guys… I just bought one for the missus for Chrissy, she will be over the moon. With the exchange rate at the moment my total cost came to $128. Win!

  • -2

Hrmm… i knew that GHD is a really good product and i know that its very expensive, but its a buy once and never buy another, type of product….

but i found this…..? Can someone explain?

    http://www.ghdaustore.com/

  • Just bought one, thanks! I don't know how the mysterious maths worked that made £85 + £8.50 = £80, but it's all good to me :)

  • Cant get the 15HQHAIR code to work just now, but tried SUNTEN and got 10% off instead.

    • Ooh thanks for that code! I thought I'd missed the deal (although the code is for £10 off not 10% off, but I guess for a £99 purchase that doesn't matter so much!)

I'd actually gone through the whole checkout process yesterday, but didn't go through with the purchase. They then sent me an email offering me a code (HQTAKETHAT) with 10% off to complete the purchase, so I tried it…and it didn't recognise! Why bother offering?? Anyway, it's a trick if anyone else wants for try.

      • I did the same thing…left it in the basket overnight, the 15% off code no longer works…tried HQTAKETHAT which doesn't work either. But SUNTEN does still work.

      • If you check the fine print on the HQTAKETHAT offer you'll see it only applies to non-electrical items. I'm not sure whether they send you the email even if you have a non-electrical item in your checkout because I had something else in there when I received the email. If they're sending it when you only have the elctrical item then that's pretty stupid and will not help them close the sale.

  • did any body get charged on paypal ? mine is pending on pound amount lol hope they dont charge me when AUD Drops

    • I'm in the same position, chose to be charged in pounds and crossing fingers that AUD doesn't drop.
I think HQHair is waiting for stock and won't charge until ready to ship. Normally I'd appreciate it but in this case I'd rather they just charge now… never happy I guess.

  • I put extra products so to lowering shipping..
But they seem to be charging me each time they send the product! (so I have 5 products with GHD, they have sent the first 2 to me already and the invoice includes the 15% discount + Shipping costs)
help! is anyone having this issue?

  • Did anyone check out link that EdZz posted above? http://www.ghdaustore.com/
The GHD IV there is only AUD$94!! Not sure how much p&h is, i didnt go thru with checkout but would probably be less than $131 all up and they have warranty replacement from retailer. Im assuming that product is genuine.

Damnit i ordered one frm HQHair yest :(

  • has anybodys been shipped yet ?

    • yes, mine has. but i ordered the GHD IV Mini.

  • How come my order got cancelled by HQHair?!?!??! Anyone have the same issue?? The product is still on sale!

It is with regret that we have been unable to obtain stock of one of your products, and so we have cancelled this item from your order:
    1 x IV Styler

  • Mine has been cancelled as well. I've just sent a polite email basically saying 'wtf?'. My guess is they got more orders than they expected and decided to cancel them, which is very poor on their part, so I'm pretty pissed off

    • i know where you're coming from. but look at the number of clicks (2000+ clicks from this site alone). doubt they can stock so many.

  • Mine was cancelled too. Here is their follow up reply to my enquiry -
'We regret to inform you that we will be unable to fulfil your order. Unfortunately some discount codes that were meant for non-electrical items delivered within the UK, have been advertised on some foreign forums and you have used one of these codes. Due to the margins and the cost of shipping outside the UK we unfortunately can not honour this discount, we do apologise for the inconvenience.
As a gesture of goodwill we would like to offer you a 5% discount code, this is valid until the 12th November and can be used on any item on the website. Please enter : FIVOFF : at checkout

    • Honestly, that is a pathetic excuse. If they didn't want non UK customers to use it they should have made the code valid only for UK addresses. And to say that the problem is due to shipping…? They charge for shipping! £8.50 is the most I've ever had to pay for anything of that size from the UK (come on, GHDs aren't that heavy, otherwise there'd be heaps of girls with RSI!)

Annnnd both of those excuses are just lies considering they did honour the code for some people. Surely they would realise that if people first got the code from a forum they would also see feedback from other buyers on the same forum. They can keep their 5% discount.

  • i have just received an email from HQhair…..

"We regret to inform you that we will be unable to fulfil your order. Unfortunately some discount codes that were meant for non-electrical items delivered within the UK, have been advertised on some foreign forums and you have used one of these codes. Due to the margins and the cost of shipping outside the UK we unfortunately can not honour this discount, we do apologise for the inconvenience."

if the discount code was meant for 'non electrical' why did it accept the code…Yer right !!!

  • My order got cancelled also - if you're going to have these online coupon codes for people and you know that they're valid for certain people (UK customers in this case) why not damn well restrict them in the first place - or better still - not have these coupon codes at all!

If they were a decent business they'd admit that they stuffed up and would still honour the transaction, as opposed to holding peoples money for a day or two and then cancelling the order.

    • I'm pretty annoyed about this too. However regarding your second comment about "holding peoples money for a day or two and then cancelling the order", I'm not sure about credit card payments, but if you pay via PayPal they don't charge until they ship it, which obviously never happened.

  • surprisingly now the item is out of stock :@

  • I guess if it seems too good to be true…

Even if I wanted to buy it from them for the 5% off using their discount code that is only good for another 2 days, it's currently out of stock and unable to be purchased. Hilarious!

  • +1

Yes they supply a 5% discount code only valid for 2 days. I decided that an extra 9.9 pounds was still probably worth paying but now it is not possible to put the GHD in my basket. So the 5% discount is NOT available for this product.

I understand that errors occur but my order was accepted, it took days for them to cancel and their goodwill gesture is to offer 5% off another product I don't want to buy…insulting.

  • My order got cancelled too. Man this is annoying.

  • Same for me, order cancelled. Not long after that I get an email from COTD saying that there was a discrepancy between the number of cameras their inventory system said they had and how many they had on the shelves. So the 2 presents I told my girlfriend she would be getting in the next few weeks are off the cards.

I think it's time for some real regulation of the online shopping industry, or maybe I'm just frustrated.

    • i'm in the same boat as you my friend.

  • My order was also cancelled.

  • I called up HQhair to enquire what happened with my cancelled order. They said they thought they had stock but they ran out and don't know when the new stock will come in - hence the "awaiting stock" message. I asked for them to hold my order anyway I don't mind waiting, but she said they can't do that as they don't know how long they need until they get stock in…

Pathetic re the 5% discount too! didn't realise its only valid for 2 days..

I'm curious. Did anyone here actually didn't get their order cancelled?

  • It's particularly bad when you look at their website terms and conditions:

"If an item is out of stock, we will let you know and unless you then request your payment be returned we will hold your payment until the product is next in stock".

So clearly their usual policy is not to cancel orders just because of a lack of stock.
Also 5% discount for 2 days is insulting, when clearly the only thing I want is the straightener or I would have ordered it WITH the straightener.

  • does anybody know anyother GHD website that do duty free ?
