Man, I miss the decent $10 6 packs of the early My Murphys days.

    • +2

better deals on shopping dockets these days.

    • +1

Yeah the offers have gone to crap.. no real incentive to go there anymore at all..

  • +2

The $10 six-packs at first choice are usually far better value these days. Get a 6 of something nice, claim a 6 of whatever's on offer for $10 (usually pretty good) and you come in at about the same price per beer as buying a carton.

  • Yeah it's been ages since the MyDans offers were actual bargains instead of advertising

Anyone tried the Swindler? Is the fruit taste driven by the hops or is it more of a radler?

    • Will be driven by the Galaxy Hops

      http://www.hops.com.au/products/galaxy-

      • Doubt Lion Nathan are putting Galaxy hops into their cheap beers.

        • +1

Try actually checking what hops are in the beer before commenting

        • @bricabrac89:
SURPRISED Lion are putting Galaxy into their cheap beers.

          Still a very average beer.

        • @YOTR: There's been Galaxy Hops in James Squire beers for ages. Hop Thief is one of the best reasonably priced beers out there currently

          @Wampus:
Hop Thief has Cascade and Crystal hops.

        • +1

          @YOTR:
This season is that last season was mosaic and Galaxy

      • El Dorado is super-fruity too, eg. Nail VPA.

    • +1

It's far less hoppy that the Hop Smith. Pretty bland really. The 4 Pines is a better buy here imo, by a decent margin.

    • I had Swindler on tap earlier this year. It tasted like a slightly citrusy lager. It was not pleasant.

FFS, I was about to buy more young henrys from OCT deal….. didn't know it was a monthly thing.

    • I like those Young Henry's. $15 is still a bloody rip off for beer, but at least it was 375ml, tasted great and stronger than other beers.

      • Yeh but it's good stuff I guess, I feel more ripped off when I go out and it's like $9 for something like James Boag's or something.

I spend up to $12 a bottle for the craft specials from 4 pines etc too though but like 1 - 2 bottles for tasters.

    Other beers this month:
    Molson Canadian Lager(6x355ml) $12 down from $19.99
    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_880887/molson-canad…

Fosters Classic Lager (6x375ml cans) $10 down from 13.95

    Tiger beer (6x330ml) $12 down from $17.99
    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_72240/tiger-beer-bo…

Personally I think $12 for molson is a pretty good price!

    • +1

Molson is crap, but I still drink it once in a while for those Quebec vibes.

  • For those furphy drinkers out there shocked at the $55 price at the moment - go for the cans at $46.

  • +3

Swindler is $12/6 or $50/Case via Coles docket at vintage cellars until 21/11/17

    • Cheers mate

  • Ah, I didn't know there was $15 Young Henrys until too late. Will pass on Swindler and 4 Pines…another dud month. Might grab $10 Foster's Classic for a cheap Ratebeer tick.

  • +1

Not just the beers but the scotch selection for the past two months has been terrible.
