Would this location be suitable for people? Keep in mind its coming into office party season so not sure of the availability.

I've never been to Perth but would a Thursday at say 5:30PM work? Just want to avoid the Friday after work crowd or people who have plans. People can grab a t-shirt, get some food (we'll put some money towards it) and they can buy their own drink of whatever.
I assume food-wise that we'll be locked in to getting food via the bar (e.g. no Dominos)?
Thursday sounds good - a bit later than 5.30pm might give people who work out of the city time to get there.
The Niche Bar Sccopon (mentioned above) could work well - not too far from the CBD. If we get 40 people the OZbargain $500 would virtually cover it (and if we only get 20 people the subsidy might cover the first drink each, for example).
Sounds like fun - I'd like to come along once details are sorted.

For $500, Bar 138 has agreed to provide 200 various pieces of food & unlimited soft drinks for the evening. You will need to pay for your own alcoholic drinks. They are also happy to accommodate any food requests eg. vegetarian, halal All under 18s are welcome.
Finally, what is a party without cake? Pending on my own personal schedule, I'm happy to bake one.
In the ozbargain spirit it should be a Coles mud cake :)

I'm thinking perhaps charging a nominal fee like we did with the Melbourne one just so we can accurately gauge numbers so we're not left with 5 people eating 200 pieces of food or worse 200 people eating 200 pieces of food.

Bar 138 is a pretty big venue - can cater up to 250 people. Perth is a very small city - my husband call it a "big country town". So numbers won't be an issue. But I don't know if Perthians will attend if they have to pay. The economy here is not great atm. Businesses are closing left, right & centre which is very sad. There simply isn't the population to support it all.
Back to the party: Happy to be the organiser if no one else with more experience like put their hand up for the job. But you will have to bear with me as I may not be online all the time with FT work, food prep for my husband café, free uber for my 6 yr old & everything else in between!
