Android TV Box under $100

HI

Looking for recommendations for a android tv box under $100 if possible on ebay (have a coupon to use in the by the 6th)
looked at Xiaomi mi box but does not have a pause button (which i would prefer if possible) from the reviews i see.(

i basically use it for Netflix Stan catch-up TV apps and iptv (when it works)
currently have a crappy cocoon box from aldi i got about 2 years ago.

so any recommendations would be appreciated thanks.

  • I’m using a $10 mini Keyboard touchpad and it works a treat https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=alSEocPTqj8

    • +1

Where to get it for $10?

  • Shop around on Gearbest and BangGood and look for the Android box with the newest Android Operating System (they will usually have the newest specs too)
if you dont like the launcher you can always replace with your own as its android

on quick google search THIS looks like a good option
has android 7.1, Octacore and support 4K + H.256 (Google the model name and you will see the controller it comes with)

on the topic for pause buttons most D-pad center buttons (or enter button) will act as a pause button in apps so the Xiaomi controller should work as you expect

    • thanks i was looking at that one earlier the review look good for it.

  • We bought one a year or so ago and after some research we bought one like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Quad-Core-Q-BOX-Android-6-0-Smart…

Its a Qbox one and it came fully loaded with heaps of android apps Kodi and has been great 2gb/16gb , has surprised us by playing virtually and type of media file , it even plays from iso and rar files , pretty freakin cool imo and if it died i'd definately buy another one.
These might be superceded now though

Edit : We use this for playing media from my seagate nas.

Double Edit: If you use it for netflix etc just buy a Chromecast .

    • thanks already have a couple of chromecast's in the house looking for a box for the lounge

  • does anyone have the Xiaomi mi box(Global version)? and how do they find it?

    • Interested in this myself. Any gearbest guys around who can strike up a deal for this?

    • I have one, has Kodi 17.something on it and I use wifi to play files from a linux server using nfs shares. Plays everything I've thrown at it.

I don't use any of the streaming services.

No real problems, but it sleeps rather than actually powering off so I hold the power button to reboot if I encounter any strange behaviour and that has always worked.

    • It's the best box I've used so far. I've used about 6-7 android boxes so far (got for friends) but nothing close to this. The main difference being this box has android TV OS and others have Android tablet version installed.

I missed the pause button in the first couple of days but you get used to clicking twice to pause.

Another +ve is this has bluetooth remote (not IR) so it doesn't need line of sight to operate. I'm very happy with this.

  • thanks for the input i think ive decided on the Docooler M9S PRO about to pull the triger at $75 for the 3gb/32gb version
