  • Good prices unless Gearbest, Lightinthebox, GeekBuying… are going to do something about this in the next 6 days…

    • do not buy from geekbuying, had an order for mi a1 before launch, after 60days they had still not shipped it and would not refund money. its been a massive hassle

They have a rep here (me) for a reason. Always happy to look into any issues.

      • ha. wife had exactly the same experience. think she paid with paypal so disputed it to get money back and ordered elsewhere.

    • Geekbuying response time could take up to one week to reply. I have ordered two cameras and one is DOA. It's over a week now, I am still waiting for solution from geekbuying. PS "Clear" said he will solve for me but nothing from him either.

My apologies I missed that one as I normally get at least 50 notifications a week. General rule of thumb is to message me if you don't hear back in 24-48hr.

  • Good price, have you dealt with the seller before?
Seems like they are well rated on AE.
Are they actually Xiaomi themselves or just someone who is marketing themselves as that?

    • +1

I've used this store several times without issues. There is no "official" Xiaomi store other than their own website.

      • Cheers will buy through them unless a better option comes up for the 11th then!
Yeah I wouldn't think Xiaomi would sell through AE but they had Xiaomi in their store name so I had to ask. Thanks

      • Or their bricks and mortar stores in China / HK

  • Xiaomi Mi 6 is $390 USD with coupon @ GB shows there must still be a lot of profit margin to move between

  • The MI6 is great. I have had it for 3 days now. For the price I highly recommend it.

  • I've had the MI6 since it was released, it is an awesome phone, battery lasts a long time and recharges quicker than anything.

    • Is there an official way to get a stock android experience on the Mi6?

  • Good price on the A1

  • Benchmark results are significantly behind my 2015 Nexus 5x

    • However if you compare the Mi6, which packs the SD835 and 6gig RAM, you get a flagship killer like the Oneplus 5 which costs even less.
It's a massive performance upgrade from 5X to current flagships SD835.

      https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?&idPhone2=7556&idPhone1

    • Very surprising considering the 5X is a big piece of poo.

      • Mine has been holding up well up until recently. Motherboard got replaced under warranty due to the infamous boot loop malfunction and now it takes forever and a day to swap between certain apps (not saying it's due to the repair it was starting to show signs of age before that) so I'm inclined to agree with your assessment.

        • The bootloop issue concerns me - especially now that may warranty period is nearly over

  • No SD card slot.

Is 64gb enough? Would it be worth paying 16% extra for choice of white or blue color and upgrade from 64gb to 128gb onboard storage?

    • It depends entirely on your needs. I'd personally opt for extra space given there's no sd-card support.

    • Mi A1 does have a hybrid dual sim/micro sd card tray. Same as the note 4x.

FYI Gearbest have the 128gb ceramic version on sale for 399.99 USD with coupon code Supra1019.

      • legend.

My pleasure. I grabbed one. It's the special edition ceramic one too by the way.

  • Does anyone know if this phone will play nice with the 4G Bands here?

  • Cool, will wait for 11/11 to buy

  • Tempted to grab this as a spare phone + a secondary phone when traveling. Are there cheaper alternatives with dual nano sim card slots?

  • Mi 6 64GB $452.39 with Australia warranty using code 'PREZZY' on ebay.

  • Used to be a fan of QWERTY phones but since that feature is pretty much dead and I've dropped by Priv (which since seems to be very slowly failing *) I've decided to want a cheapish decent value phone and focus on the feature of dual cameras being a bit of a camera person (in particular the ones with 50mm+ equiv lenses phones). A bonus if the phone actually shrinks in size a tad too I gotta say.

Mi 6 looked like it had decent dual cameras, smaller than the Priv and usual Xiaomi value, etc. but the lack of expandable memory. Guess I have 3 days to mull over it for longer though :P.
[actually never mind, no headphone jack either, screw that]

(* or maybe Pokemon Go just killed my phone lol)

Sad looks like black model is still more expensive than the gold model.
Black model is showing as $268 and gold is $255.
