4kg liquid omo top or front loader ~ $21 with price match from big w but you would have to pickup

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/omo-omo-liquid-4l-bottle-6704…

    Price match with this https://www.bigw.com.au/product/omo-liquid-front-top-loader-…

I personally prefer the liquid as I don't get any dry powder on my clothes

    • 80 washes though… = 26.25c/wash
      This deal - 136 washes = 20.56c/wash

      :)
      (Didn't neg you…)

        All good

I just prefer liquid and I'm sure many other people also do 👍🏻

        • +4

liquid is nice, with powder and it being so large, after 4kg moisture gets in and it becomes a rock

          @djones145:

I have some powder that's over 6 years old and still OK.

        • @Scab:

          @kahn:

          I mainline Sard Wonder Powder.

  • How much is the Costco brand laundry powder?

    • +4

Not sure, no Costco in WA :P

  • +1

for those who have costco membership, 10 kg (2 x 5kg) are quite regularly there for $39.99-44.99 per 10 kg (regular price is $49.99 there, if I'm not mistaken)

    • This guy washes.

      • yep, bought that double-package a year ago, and still hasn't finished the first one (out of two), so it well worth it…

  • Cold Power (top/front loaders) was on special at Coles this week in 2Kg boxes for $7.90. A better brand (arguable) at a cheaper price .. :-) .. !!

    • Choice did a review of them a while ago and those better brands didn't fare well. More expensive, yet not delivering what they should. 'Better" brands are more expensive, yet not necessarily better at cleaning than 'worse' brands.

      • Cold Power came third only to OMO and trimat.Bang for buck would be trimat, cold Power

  • +1

    which brands are better?

    • +1

usually preference on smell, they are prolly the same

    • +2

      ALDI is surprisingly good.

But for brand names I also use Biozet.

    • OMO has optical brighteners that may degrade some fabrics, so something without them would be better in some cases.

    • +4

Choice Reviews or a very long table version. ALDI at the top and best value for performance.

Keep in mind with a front loader, the best detergent scored 80% and using no detergent scored 50%. Top loaders are worse with the best scoring 64% and just water 50%. Next machine will definitely be a front loader for me.

EDIT: The OMO in this deal scored 79% in front loaders and 58% in top loaders.

      • I bought the OMO in a previous deal.. Prettty good!

      • I buy home brand no frills from coles or woolies because aldi doesn't deliver but I might try make a shopping run for some aldi ones now seeing as how they are maybe cheaper.

        • You should find the Aldi Trimat powder will clean your clothes MUCH better than home brand powder at Coles/Woolworths

        • +1

@placard: might make a trip to aldi then for my next laundry powder visit stock up

    Good post OP, thanks.

  • Harvey Norman sell Omo so with the Amex deal today the price may be close to this.

    • +1

      You buying $500 worth of Omo…? :O

      • +3

Dont think he would. Username wouldnt check out then

        • +3

he should change his user name to "cleanclotheswearingpovertytrap"

  • Cheers - I tend to alternate powder
with liquid for my front loader. That way, the dispenser gets hardly any build up of left over soap (the powder cleans up the left over liquid and vice versa). A technician once told me this is the best way to keep your machine clean from the inside as well.

    • My machine has a cycle called "drum clean". It basically washes empty at 90degC. I run it every now and then.

  • Edit: ignore.

      OK

I buy OMO Sensitive because it's low odour and I hate being able to smell the clothes I'm currently wearing. Shame it's not part of the deal as I'm just about to buy a new box.

  • +1

I bought $300 worth last time with HN and Amex deal but $400-$500 is beyond even me.

    • Lol that's a lot of laundry powder.

  • I love the Tide Laundry liquid from Costco. Expensive but very good!!
